April 24, 200917 yr The thing about Metallica is that they are a thrash metal band, meaning all they need to do is crank up the amps and rock. Simple as that. S&M is a good idea, but I think you eventually get bored with S&M simply because all it offers is Metallica performing with an orchestra. Yes, it's Metallica with an orchestra. Why should that get boring faster than a normal Metallica record? In my opinion it really gives the music something that it normally lacks. If Metallica is meant to sound flat or not doesn't mean much to me, it just doesn't sound good. Like I said, Metallica performing with an orchestra is an interesting idea. My problem with S&M is that the excitment of hearing Metallica with an orchestra dies away quickly because thats pretty much what S&M is. If it had a couple songs with an orchestra, that would be alright. Falling Into Infinity is a pretty good album. It isnt the best DT album, but the best thing about this album is that if you close your eyes while listening to this album, you have this weird feeling that you're floating in an ocean.
