Ess. Pure Ess. Pissed merchants. Poor F2P. Unmotivated P2P.

Just think of the chain. If F2P ess is cheaper, but useless to members, F2P players lose many profits for buying rares, better armour, mass quantities of resources etc. If pure ess raises in price, nats raise in price, yew logs raise in price, flax rasies in price, bow strings raise in price, yew longs raise in price and ALCHING STAYS THE SAME, meaning, LESS PROFIT!

Less profit means players who will avoid getting into the fletching scene and woodcutting scene and runecrafting scene and mining scene. Therefore with at least 4 skills being useless to a merchanter, PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GIVE UP P2P.

Good going Jadex, in your galactically handicapped attempt to kill off macroer populations, you inadvertantly lost many players.

   Add that to your long list of accomplishments    Jadex.

Wow...I just scanned it with my new high tech program called "common sense" and it detected a scam.

I can sincerely say that I doubt people will leave members just because of this update. I personally think this was an excellent move Jagex made.

It will help the autoer problem that was out of control.

It as only been the first day of the update, so can you say that nature prices will rise and eventually shatter the community?

I'm not too fussed about the update, it will encourage more people to actually mine the essence themselves instead of simply mining it.

I also think it may encourage people to use skills to make money instead of merchanting.

Don't get me wrong, I bow my hat to the merchanting experts like Duke_freedom. *Bows hat to merchanting experts like Duke_freedom*.

I'm sure this essence update won't affect his money making (correct me if I'm wrong). There are other ways to merchant more effectively than essence.

Of course I'm no economy expert so that whole paragraph may be wrong...

I agree with the topic starter, it will push the prices up of pure ess massivley, no members are going to mine pure ess and sell it at the normal rate as being members there are plenty of better ways to get money. I think the price of pure ess will go up to around 100 gp each as the demand will be so great, whilst normal ess will fall because of a low demand.

Jadex?

Jagex...

But yeh... I agree....

I can see Pure Ess going high, and normal ess going right down - Good if you want to RC Airs to get your RuneCrafting up.

so both the rune ess trade on the members side and f2p side will suffer

blame the macroers. i cant believe you people are pointing fingers at jagex, knowing fully well when you first created your runecsape accounts that jagex has rules and will do whatever is in their power to enforce their rules. this is a rule enforcement measure. it only came to this because rule breakers were getting away with macroing and real world trading at an alarming rate. blame them

I don't think it will cause to muvh of a crisis for the well established p2p market

normal ess will probably fall to about half the value, but may still be used by ppl training rc using the 6 base runes

pure essy will probably juts take on the exact same role as the original esy. I mean other than the word 'pure' and the required lvl to mine it it is the exact same item

Yes... But the thing is:

People who want to craft Laws, Natures, Deaths, Cosmics etc are going to have to buy Pure Essence. This will be expensive as people who want to make the Six basic runes will buy Normal Essence, because it will be cheaper, as you can only make those Six basic Runes with it.

The change is good, are you saying you liked the fact there were autoers just because it helped you?

I never saw any rule in the Jagex rules that said anyone had to buy anything...for sure not Ess. Just doing slayer keeps me in more ess than I will ever use...and I for sure never buy it....Lord help me if I ever mine it.

you totally miss my point

Original ess

- Can make all runes

- Major monye maker for f2p and low lvl p2p alike

Pure ess

- Can make all runes

- requires lvl 30 mining

pure ess is still the same old essence basically, it does nothing better it does nothing worse. Hence it has same vbalue as the original ess to p2p meaning its price will undoubtably remain the same as original ess.

It is only the new ess tht will alter

majin, see that quote in your sig?

How ironic...

You may think that you are being largely cunning with that statement, but you are the exact opposite. My sig opposes the head-strong and rude comments of discriminatory and biased players who do not play for the sake of enjoying their time, they play for the sake of ruining everyone elses fun.

My post makes sense. Regardless of what you think, that is IFyou did before you said something, you would realize it too.

Making ess useless to P2P, and pure ess unavailable to F2P means decline is ess sales and an exponential jump in pure ess prices. Who wants to pay 100gp to craft a 200gp rune, when no less than 24 hours ago could make that same 200gp rune for 25gp?

That is your problem Bubsa. You think you are King $h!t and act like you own these boards because you played since RSC, have 6000+ posts and have your cute little child songs. I myself, think you are a small minded individual who can not think outside the tiny little 15 inch monitor displaying runescape in your bedroom in your mothers house when you are all alone in the dark and you like to fondle yourself because you have a phat. Good for you Bubsa. No one cares. Your comment is unnappreciated, and I think your posts are largely ineffective and a waste of time. You cut other members down because you got a head so big only you are allowed to say whatever you want on these forums.

Unlike people like Raichase, Neogeo, Zubedoo, Forsaken Mage and a few short others, you display everything I wish no one would ever be; a self centred, elitist clique sycophant.

Now Bubsa, go back to peacefully fondling yourself over your own big ego, over-inflated big head, pixel phat and low IQ.

How did you own me, Bubsa? With that little remark? You wish. You didn't own me, so shut up and stop posting. I hope a swarm of noobs eats you.

Say some witty noob remark to me, I dare you.

Well, you're entitled to your opinion. It's completely wrong and unjustified, but you're entitled to it.

To be honest, if I offend you that much and you resent me this much, I'm trying to think why you bothered to waste so much time on me, because I'm certainly not prepared to do the same on you.

Let's all just get back to our normal lives now, no need to get bent out of shape.

I'm not trying to impress you, anyone, or win popularity contests, so sorry to disappoint you.

If it's your way to manipulate quotes for you own egocentric gain, then by all means, go ahead. You're just giving me reason to be "high and mighty".

i agree on the fact this will have mayor impact on the economics of rs

but with normal essence being cheaper f2pers get more money out of runecrafting, as long the price of airs stays the same (18-20ea)

personally jagex shoud make the pure essence f2p to (not that they can use it) but the mining lvl to obtain it, lvl 60...

autoers wont get lvl 60 mining essence (in most cases)

and f2pers will still have pure essence to merchant

some friends friends lost millions because they merchanted essence

but like always economics are unstable only the week after the update

next days u will see many players trying to sell natures, laws, chaos runes ... for much higher price of their value

but it wil stabalize again, and if everybody is used to it, it will start dropping again

this happened with the cook-x/cook all to, as soon updated, raw lobbies were 300-350each, now raw lobbies are 250-260 ea, and befor the update raw lobbies were 180-200ea

personally i like the update, because i m pure f2p anyway, i can buy the essance prolly cheaper in a few month and get more cash from runecrafting

siggy3s.jpg

Your sig pisses me off because you didn't own anyone. People who quote themselves in thier signatures are not cool.

And OMG, all those POOR members who HAVE to BUY their essence will QUIT because they are LAZY!!!

I mined 2k essence in less than an hour today and still was able to craft it 5x into airs. Funds lost: Zero. Funds gained: 10000 airs, most of which I sold. Whoamygod.

My message to my fellow P2P members: GET OFF YOUR BUMS! Mining essence is not hard! So you have to work a little harder to runecraft. Big deal!

This update has effected me not. I mine my own essence so I dont have to pay for it. I am glad the autoers are gone but who cares because you don't have to fight over essence.

So oh lord! Jagex are sorry bums because they are making us work just a whee bit harder! God forbid this game doesn't get EASIER after every update.

My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. Believe me, nothing except a battle lost can be half so melancholy as a battle won. -Sir Arthur Wellesley

As Jagex stated..the primary goal of this update was to restrict autoers.

By making pure essence p2p, they did indeed accomplish their goal, but, since most essence is brought into the game by f2pers, the price of essence (and everything else linked to it...specifically nature runes) will shoot up. This should limit the amount of cash brought into the economy, which, in turn, will slow down inflation?

Hrm...maybe it was a good idea after all?
