ive heard rune pures (45 def) can get fire capes, im not sure if its been done yet but obviously theres some sort of idea how to do it. i need to know how because the fairly large strength bonus the fire cape provides would be a very significant pking advantage, especially in addition to my barrows gloves.

Yes theyd need high lvl mage and millions to do it though using blood spells.

hmmm, look at sol tars post, it might help you, but it is very hard to do it with 45 def

It's been done by a 1 Def player.

I reckon it's easier to kill then kalaphite queen on shrimps and bronze arrows than get a fire cape with 45 def.

Fancy--fancy (2 spaces) has done it, she only has 1 def too...

Sara Brews, super restores, high prayer and/or high prayer armor, and either a high range level with x bow or a high mage level with blood spells. Guthans isn't a huge nessesity honestly since you can "hide" from or prayer protect from every monster except the 90's and the healers at the end. It is pretty easy getting to the 702 without guthans and there is no real use for it once you reach him. They main reason I use guthans is because it makes it even easier and saves on range ammo. Without guthans you will be doing a lot more manuevering but thats about it. If you are REALLY ambitious you can just chill out while your hp slowly refills while hiding from any of the melee monsters.

Just look at Zut's post. Level 66 or so did it. 1 Deffence I believe.

45 defense is the tricky one. It's possible to do it with range, but it requires a lot of practice and some luck (70 defense is much easier due to wearing Veracs). You could always do it the expensive way with 80 mage and blood blitz (or 92 and blood barrage), which makes it easy but if you fail it might hurt your bank account a lot :P

you'd have to use blood barrage to do that.

 

 

 

Here is what I think you should do:

 

 

 

Order to kill: 22, 90, 360, 180, 45

 

reasoning: 22's drain pray, 90's will range and damage you, 360's drain pray, 180's and 45's can be blood barraged from a safe spot to heal

 

 

 

Always kill the 22's and 90's first. Get the 180 trapped behind the 360 so you can range it with mage prot on. When the 360 dies, turn off mage prot to conserve pray and range/blood spell the 180 from a safe spot.

 

 

 

 

 

oh, and one more bit of advice. It takes atleast 4-5 tries to get the fire cape. Expect to get killed by the 702 within 15 seconds on your first try.

Use a hella lota blood blitz's :wink:

Blood barrage, 43 prayer, and a lot of cash to spend. That's all you need to get the fire cape.

you forgot that he needs ALOT of time to get it.

And don't do it on a laggy comp or one that logs you out a lot.

thanks for the replies so far and i did look at soul tar's post, and ive learned what i should bring, but i havent learned how its actually DONE yet. do you hide and range through the whole thing, or what?

Hmm, I might give this a shot. I have plenty of mill to not care about using on blood barrage when I hit the magic lvl, I'll just practice with lower spells so I know what to expect. The fire cape would be a nice thing to use for staking since so many people around my lvl like to try to put capes on and they use the obby cape.

Just range with xbow, using super restores and sara brews, wudnt be hard at all since ur in safe spot and cant get hit..

anywhere between1 and 69 def makes no difference because if u cant wear guthans and u go with the blood spell idea then u can still get 1 hitted (i know u can get 1 hitted even with guthans) so its basically the same whatever def lvl

oh wow, i tryed it at lvl 110, melee, with 89Def. and i got smoked, i tryed it 3 times and gave up, then again. i had no idea what i was doing. lol. :)

 

still 1def, thats impressive! and 45def is also impressive!
