dymed
As we all know, the whip is unarguably the best weapon in the game. However, it doesn't train strength exclusively, so the dragon scimitar has been deemed the strength-training weapon of choice. Either that or full Dharok. My problem: I have 1 magic and 1 prayer, which means that I can't complete Monkey Madness and get myself a scimitar, nor can I train with the Dharok set effect because I'm not suicidal. So that brings me to my question of what is the best strength training weapon other than the dragon scimitar? I'm thinking it's probably Veracs Flail. However, does the increase in speed make the Flail faster exp than Dharoks Great Axe, which has tons more accuracy and strength? Or is it more effecient to train with the Great Axe? If anyone has any insight on this or if any research has been done, please share. :D Once again, I cannot use a dragon scimitar nor the full Dharok set. I need a different weapon. kwimbob
for trainign str i recomend a d scimi *Sigh* (Read the post, or at least the bolded part of the post :P ) D long, torag's hammers, Guthan's spear, and the flail are all the same speed. Of them, torag's hammers actually have the best stats (a +85 crush, +72 str), so I would go with them if they have a str training option, and I'm pretty sure they do. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. dymed
for trainign str i recomend a d scimi *Sigh* (Read the post, or at least the bolded part of the post :P ) Go with a d long maybe, but I would take the speed of a flail over a great axe if you still want to use barrows'. This drag long is absolute torture after training with a whip for so long. There must be a better weapon for me. :( The drag long is 69 slash attack and 71 strength. The flail is 82 crush attack and 72 strength with the same speed, so it's clearly better. The great axe is 103 slash attack and 105 strength, which blows the flail out of the water, but is incredibly slow. I'm trying to figure out if the increase in stats is worth the decrease in speed, flail vs. great axe.
DragonFirenze
Dragon Dagger isnt too bad... still slow. Dlong maybe? Lvl 80 construction. dymed
Hey, would you look at this...Torag's Hammers are 85 crush attack with 72 strength, making that clearly better than the flail. So now I'm down to either the hammers or the great axe. I've tested dragon dagger vs. dragon long, and the long is better. So the dagger's also out of the question. Actually the torag's hammers are +3 att stats better than the flail, so if you prefer the flail because of the multiple attack options or looks, it's not much of a deal breaker. If the flail's aggressive style isn't a crush style, though, the torag's hammers would be a much better choice. BTW, I edited my post up there with some information, but I got quoted too early, but it's there  Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. gonzlar
Once again, I cannot use a dragon scimitar nor the full Dharok set. Looks like that was useless... Anyway, torag's hammers and the flail both have the aggressive option for their highest attack bonus, so that's not a problem. The torag hammer is higher attack (however slight it may be) and also cheaper, so it's the clear choice. Now it's a matter of whether to get the hammers or the great axe. Great axe would be equivilant to training with an r2h on f2p, so go with the torags hammers, however i still prefer dragon long, i think its faster despite what the site says, and it has a special which gives larger hits for slightly more xp. nvw08
I know, im gonna sound like an idiot.. BUT you can do mm with range and 1 pray, pures do it all the time. Don't quiz me on it but I think you can lure the monster so it gets trapped then range/hally it wo death.. Other then that I would go with t hammers. Either flail or hammers, both provide about the same stats. Besides those, you *could* try to do Monkey Madness and get D Scim, the (arguably) best strength trainer in the game. fireaxe777
id say flail with full veracs, the special helps with hitting through tough defences like gargs and stuff, and it's also a bit more accurate then hammers in my experiance 33 Abyssal Whip Drops 8 Dragon Drops
me_poulin
This is probably just me But I trained to 95 strength with Dragon long... and I can tell you it took for ever... Then I switched to dragon scimmy for 99 strength. The difference seemed huge to me... But I've never use any barrows or what ever so I really don't know... :? Once in a life time! nxnja
dont get a great axe unless you are getting the full set. either go with torags hams or d long, using d baxe spec while training might be a good idea too.
meol
... nor can I train with the Dharok set effect because I'm not suicidal... Why don't you use the full set without getting your HP to levels low enough for them being risky? For example, instead of going to the lowest HP levels in order to hit the highest, you could just let them drop a little? That way you recieve the benefits of the weapon itself, plus some of the benefits of the whole set. I'm not quite sure about this, as I've never had the set, but you could try it.
