Rofl, i remember a few other clan sites getting hacked, i dont think Tip it did too, but not completely. Where the hacker wrote something like "Bob Marley has owned you!"

Not me (arguably). I did play runescape... but I found out about the board(s) though other people, and would never have come onto them from the game itself.

Yeah. The ones with that funny orange/yellow colour that made you want to gouge your eyes out with a spoon.

 

 

 

Later they were moved onto the same forums that housed the tip.it Asheron's Call forum. I got interested, examine the game for a bit. It seemed to be like RuneScape, but better. Took nine weeks from when I decided I wanted to game til the ISP setting up ADSL connections finally hooked us up. I bought the game, loved it for six months and then I heard about DAoC. I never played that, but I did do SWG for two years, and now I've done WoW for more than six months.

 

 

 

 

 

So basically, this place is the main reason why MMORPG's are my gaming genre of choice today, more than five years later. It's also one of the main reasons why I like forums and - truth be told - the off-topic section remains one of the more interesting places I know of on the internet to discuss just about everything.

Dya remember the like 60 page petition for a pk world, where basically it was petitioning for jagex to put in a world where u cud pk everywhere which wud make wars good etc.

Gosh, I guess I've been here ages. I joined the original tip.it forums back in 2001, I believe, but didn't really post. I was just finishing up middle school and was extremely arrogant (well, that hasn't changed :D). I preferred the original RS forums, where the Runescape Trivia Team ruled, and didn't go on the tip.it ones much.

 

 

 

Some personal highlights and favourite memories:

 

 

 

-Paul once posted on tip.it (when Jagex still posted, ha :() that he thought I was extremely kind and mature for someone who, if he recollected correctly, was only 14. I cared a lot what people thought of me back then, and it meant a lot that Paul knew who I was.

 

 

 

-With typical teenage dramatic flair, I made a quitting post and said I would quit as soon as the thread died. My friends all begged me not to leave, saying they'd just keep the thread up forever, and eventually convinced someone (I think Lightning? hearts to Lightning :D) to sticky it for a bit, until I agreed to stay.

 

 

 

-Camo coming out as a male. That was vaguely hilarious.

 

 

 

-Getting to know dusqi, who had been a major part of my life.

 

 

 

-The hilariousness that was rsn_lead.

 

 

 

-The Runescape Insane Asylum, aka the RIA ;) Especially when a bunch of us were made mods a bit later. I wonder what happened to blink!

 

 

 

-The old clan boards and trying my hand at diplomacy.

 

 

 

-Blue Tear's special evil smiley.

 

 

 

-RS Inn, the Wilderness forums, and those ones that pepsi24 made... all interesting groups of people and spinoffs of tip.it by people who were frustrated with it for various reasons.

 

 

 

Oh, nostalgia. I guess after all this time I've finally started to really give up RS and the community, which is sad, because I love a lot of people here. It also makes me sad that there are a lot of people who I don't know here, who I surely could grow to love, and probably never will have a chance to...
