swordwarior
So there will be the release of a f2p update this month. Jagex has made it clear with the release of poh that there trying to take money out of the economy. So ive been wondering if there will be some kind of fee with the new update in order to take money from f2p also. Or if not this update, will there be one in the near future for f2p that takes out money? I think this is in the right place, and if theres already a topic about this sorry. Nick_471
Thats just plain stupid, theres no reason to take money out of F2P. Its P2P that are the mass high-alchers etc.
Eyrelex
I highly doubt there will be any fee attached to the f2p update, the majority of free players are already really poor in comparison to members. Check out my Pocket Slot idea!
aznmidget448
I think it's more of the fact they want to keep f2pers interested in this game. They also stated that they were going to help with safety tips so that there is less scams and hacks in the future. I highly doubt that this has anything to do with money... apostledanub
I also think that is doubtable, I myself only have like 100k. Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know when Leeroy Jenkins guides you into your death.
Acinonyx
yeah, f2p players don't have as many opportunites to "create" gp as p2p players. the dungeon is probably just to educate the masses about account security...it seems like fun. i'm excited. swordwarior
i didnt think i would be as big of a money drain as construction, i thought it would be like a fee to get in of like 1k or 5k, something small.

I dont see why it should be a money drain at all...it's not a new skill or anything that requires you to buy completely new stuff. I mean, you might wish to buy a weapon/armor or something, but most people wouldn't need to. And besides, I hear they're giving us new armor by the end of it. So yes, I'm pretty sure this is just to keep f2pers still interested in the game, even as they look at screenies of construction with drool coming out of their mouths. Exactly. Hopfully not so many people will get scammed after the update. And it's a F2P update, woohoo. I'm excited about this aswell, and I want to see this new piece of equipment. Wha.. What..? Where am I?

Dexek
It will be a training ground, probably with different levels. Each level will undoublty have s tronger monster, and there will be security questions throughout the levels. The item at the end if wearable, but in no way is 100% armour. Maybe a new amulet, cape, or even a funny hat, who knows. I myself can't wait for the update and have been anticipating it ever since I first read about it. :D As for taking money out of F2P, it is doubtful. I myself make quite a bit as a pure F2P player, but the average that F2P players make is much lower than that of members. ccll55
I doubt it, its hard to make cash on f2p, the only really good way is yews and its really hard to sell yews whne theyres an autoer next to you selling for half the price you are.
Doomster
The event, they WANT new players (F2P or P2P) to do it to learn about security, so those fresh from tut island will not have much gp or combat. Of course, if FAILING a security question puts you among tougher monsters, maybe mid-levels will fail deliberately. As for a F2P money drain, there's one already - buying stuff from members, though that's more a transference than a drain.
majinkamahl
As for a F2P money drain, there's one already - buying stuff from members, though that's more a transference than a drain. It is an indirect money drain. P2P sells to F2P, getting F2P cash. They spend that cash on construction. Money now drained. Whoever said it was way easier for a member to get cash was right. A monster drop in P2P could be a 30 million gp dragon chain. Best F2P got is a 30k rune large. Why does Jadex want to drain all the money anyway? Wow...I just scanned it with my new high tech program called "common sense" and it detected a scam.
hankdoodle12
yeah cash is the hardest thing to do in f2p they shud do sumtin about it
Punc
Why does Jadex want to drain all the money anyway? Alot of cash -> high prices of items -> new players don't get their fair chance to get them items -> new players don't like the game because it takes too much effort -> no new members. majinkamahl
Why does Jadex want to drain all the money anyway? Alot of cash -> high prices of items -> new players don't get their fair chance to get them items -> new players don't like the game because it takes too much effort -> no new members. Wouldn't that lead to the inevitable Merchant VS Skiller debate though? If you can't make enough money fast enough to buy high priced items, work for them. Any skiller with level 30 mining has a VERY profitable way of getting their hands on GP. Or anyone who has completed rune mysteries. Or 60 woodcutting. Or a decent combat and pk's/has a good training spot. Fish lobbies. Crafting. Runecraft. All very good ways to make cash. Greed has just led too much to wanting stuff now for cheap instead of working for it and earning something. Like me for example; I want a green p hat. That is my ultimate RS goal. I have almost 5mil cash, santa hat and full rune. I can cut yews, mine ess, mine mith, smith mithril chains, high alch and I am entirely self-sufficient. I know I don't have much, but I play about 10 hours of RS a week, so I figure I'm not doing too badly. Above all else, what member is going to complain when a dust devil drops a 25mil dragon chain? Are they going to complain the price is too high? Of course not, they will either wear it or make the fastest 25mil they've ever seen. Wow...I just scanned it with my new high tech program called "common sense" and it detected a scam.
Dexek
I was just thinking... the item at the end of the training levels could be something comedic... possibly a diploma, dunce hat, graduate hat.. :) PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape

Axelon
I have a sinking feeling the item going to be rubbage. Sort of like the more recent Holiday Drops. Such as the Yo-yo, the Rubber Chicken, the Easter Egg ring, etc... Sure they're cool for the first five minutes, but in the end they are a useless waste of bank space that aren't even worth the time it took to get them. kuud
i can't wait for the new training grounds for us f2p. I don't think their is gonna be some kind of fee to take money out of the f2p economy. I think the f2p economy is based off the p2p economy.
