I just went down to the mountain brow (escartment edge, we call it a mountain here) on my motarized scoot, so that i could get pictures for somethng. Well it works perfectly fine to go down there, but for coming up, boom! no gas! so it was bout a KM walk to my house pushing this heavy object.

 

 

 

Has anyone else here experianced problems with running out of gas (mostlikely in cars)

No, but I have walked 1 mile (about 2km) from school one day carrying a bookbag and a French Horn(boya!).

I havnt personally had any experiences with running out of gas, but my family has a bad history of thinking they can keep driving on empty :roll: .

 

We even have a nickname for our families bad habit of running out of gas #-o

And to think us American's complain about $2.89 a gallon or whatever it is right now. Which it is indeed bullcrap, because a couple years ago I remember it almost getting to $2.00 and people were screaming the end of the world. :P Cheapest gas I've seen so far was around 6 years ago in Atlanta, Georgia for $0.67 per gallon. :P WTB those days back!

 

 

 

Maybe if you guys start measuring in gallons, the price will go down!

not me but a friend of mine run out of gas on his jetski. i dont know why he didnt went in when he switched to reserve tank, in the end we had to tie him to taylors jetyki and drag him in

I've never ran out of gas. But I have a system. I fill up once a every 3-4weeks. I live in a small town so my drive to work or friends house is only like 2 miles so I dont use much gas. If i do get to empty my Check Gage light comes on. When that happens I know that I have about 20 miles of gas left so I reset my odometer and when I get to about 19.7 miles I fill up :lol:

I use to have a car that had a broken gas gage. So, what I would do since I didn't drive much is I would put in $15 in my car every tuesday and be fine.

 

Gas started going up, and I started driving more. There were a couple of times that my car stalled out when I made a sharp turn :|

 

 

 

Now that I have a decent car, I try to never let it drop below a quarter tank just in case of a long distance emergency.

 

 

 

Btw, pushing cars for more then 10 mins sucks....

Ran out of gas once while driving my dad's car. Luckily, I was just down the road from my house. :D

i always keep mine pretty full, fill up 3 times every two weeks.

We were on a road trip, towing a trailer with the truck. My dad had a 5 gallon can of gas in the back just in case, but when we ran out of gas we were just a short walk from the gas station... So close. Not only that, but on most cars the fuel pump is cooled by the gas in the tank, so when there's no gas, the fuse breaks so it doesn't burn out, and we had to diagnose that problem on the side of the road.

 

 

 

But I've never personally ran out of gas. Infact, I probably am never below a quarter tank. But my gauge is broken to the point of where it's convinced the tank on my car is only 6 gallons, so when you're at 6 gallons it's behind the big E, so I just go on odometer readings, usually 200-230 miles even though I could go much further.

I worked at a gas station, in fact yesturday was my last day (moving to another state). And the darndest thing happend. we ran out of gas... so i sat and chilled with my friends for the last 2 hours of that job.

Few times I ran out of gas, but I always have an extra gallon on the trunk^^

Nope, I watch my gas, when its real life to being at the middle of "E" I go refill (and get a carwash if my car's dirty lol)
