Hunted hunter. The final underwater signature.

These are such fun to make, but I gotta be doing something else too. Thus, this will be the conclusion to my best series yet. The shark is done in a new technique and I like the "a bit more realistic" look.

It's a shark fishing boat you see covering the sun (if you don't get it  ).

The grand finale is here...

Wow, look's great. Again. :-)

Nice serie you've got there.

looks good but i dont like the black space

yum nice sig :D

The boat looks like an oil spill a little because the edges.

The edges are like the side of the boat, the part above the water line. They cast a shadow too.

Perhaps A diver closer to the shark with a shark dart gun thingy....

Or would it destroy the picture's perspective on the boat?

I still like the other deep encounter ones better though, this one seemed a bit dark but i still love it.

9/10 :P

Best one yet definately. I can't really fault it but say that it took me a while to see the front end of the shark, then i realised it was a ...hammerhead?

9.5/10

fantastic

Piece - Hunted Hunter

Concept - 10/10 - The concept in this one is perfectly executed. It somehow shows that "danger" is very relative... meh, can't really put it into words - but it's great nonetheless.

Colours - 9.5/10 - The colours and brushing couldn't have been any better, IMO. Awesome depth. However, there's this spot to the top-left where the brushing looks kinda' off... It's great otherwise!

Effects - 10/10 - As said, it's flawless. It sort of reminds me of some movie poster or something from the '60's. They always had this... "real" look to them. Btw, did you do that shark?!

Text - 9/10 - Not the best, IMO. You can do much better. Instead of giving the text a "nice effect", I think you should focus more on getting is readable and sharp. Meaning: change font, add a drop shadow only, then duplicate it a few times. :)

Cuts - Well, the cuts would be the less-brushed spot to the top-left and the text. Other than that, it's fcuking brilliant. Great work!

I agree with this rating. A very good piece. Awesome.

what i would like to know is do you start with a blank canvise and draw the shark in? or is it from somewhere else and just brushed?

very nice :P

i like it, the shark looks scared, like a little child running away for stealing some candy or something

nah, seriously, i like it, wouldn't mind having that in my sig...

(I was actually quite good in swedish in matriculation exam, where I got the second highest grade...but bleeh, been reading it for 6 years and forgot it all in 6 months...)

I always suck at texts. Well I quite fancy the "deep encounter". Yes I did the shark  . Here's a full sized version of the bastard...this version is not yet finished so it's a bit messy and incomplete. (worked some more on the scaled down one).

The method to make one.

First I browsed through photos of the subject, observing how the creature looks.

Then I drew an outline for the fin (the thing in the back...fin??) and expanded from there, molding it to my pleasure.

I usually work alone with smudge tool. White color, finger paint and then finish with non-finger paint.

Then I add colorburn layer and multiply layer for shading and color control.

I work with background color close to the color of the water in the piece to create an animal that fits to the scene.

 That is the best one out of your underwaters, this definetly should be made into a background for PC.

I really love the concept of this one, the realisticness of the diver swimming hits the spot.

And the brushing on the hammerhead *thumbs up*

10/10

Hacked, gaining none buy-able skills.

thanks

Brilliant !!!

Only thing is that i personaly don't like the glow around the darkened areas of the shark. Your whole image is very realistic and that messes up the things i think. It also sends the Shark on another plain compared to the bg i think. Can u try and fix it ?

still it's just like 9.75/10 :D

Gorgeous

  • Author

ooh :D seems I have nailed it this time

You are right Jeppoz, the glow below must be the reason it doesn't quite blend in, I'll fix it as I have a sec.
