July 6, 200620 yr Well its available to public use, and your not saying you made the render yourself. I dont think its really BAD unless your selling them for a profit (e.g. runescape money, real money, etc...) then again some people dont care, and if it gets you somewhere then... it gets you somewhere :o axeraider70.deviantART.com
July 6, 200620 yr No I don't rely on the render, tut tut. :shame: Things like smuding, blurs, lighting, style of the sig, a flow, etc etc. Yeah, the sig does look good, but I'm just talking how it was made.

There is just more than 1 layer of brushes and a border, you know. I put effort in this to make it look decent and you go and ignore the whole point of the signature and start taking as if you're the best ever. I just spent 3+ hours on a new sig, it was coming on great, I was just about to save it and I had a power cut. I'm really pissed off now so excuse the temper. Thanks, Axe, yeh, this I think looks better without a render, despite being no focal point... Perhaps a wavy, glowing, aura-ish line or two through the middle would help that? Cad, I tried to blend in the border more... The edges are very dark, yet any lighter and it just looked strange. Text, I also tried to blend in, I have 2 duplicate layers of some kind of layer that I forget the name of. -_-' Yeh, it could do with a contrast/brightness layer, or a curves layer I guess. Thanks for all the comments. :) Looking at it myself now, again, I do see it's a little plain... I might just go make those changes soon and post. :)
July 6, 200620 yr i don't like it, it's not that it's bad, i don't like bright images http://forums.thegamehomepage.com/

But aside from that, the way the sig was composed doesnt generally matter as long as it looks good. Now if your trying to practice technique- which im almost certain Gold isnt, might wanna double check on that- then yes you would focus on how it was made and now what it looks like. axeraider70.deviantART.com

July 6, 200620 yr There are a few unwritten rules about C/C. 1. Don't make up excuses. 2. Don't complain about c/c, take it in your stride. 3. People who haven't got a clue about graphics but give c/c anyway - listen to them. Infact, they, as the 'general public' are the most important people you could get c/c from. Acting like you have been to c/c is going to get you no-where Mr. Goldwolf, infact, it will make you a very unpopular person.

You may call them that. 2) I don't often complain unless it doesn't actually help, or doesn't go with what I'm trying to achieve. 3) Maybe to you, but to me it doesn't really matter... People who know what they're talking about have more important views in my eyes... So if you were playing football, and your coach tells you to play in a certain position, but some bystand tells you to go play in another position, who do you listen to? ;) 4) I have my friends here, and you're not one, I know you don't like me, and I can't say I'm happy about that, but meh. 5)Update: I know text is no good in this - haven't changed it - forgot about it. =\
July 6, 200620 yr it looks nice. it's a new style for you but noone else. get rid of a tech border on an abstract sig with no render. change text. Yes, it's been done before... Another one of my abstract sigs with tech borders: It looks too plain without a big border. No render? What's wrong with that? If you can find a fitting render go ahead. Change the text? Wow. That's so helpful. Thanks for describing how it doesn't look right. Why are you saying it's a new style then when you completely contradicted yourself in the quoted post and your original post. If you can read properly (which you have proven you can't) i said those borders suit signatures with renders, and i also said i would get rid of the border, THIS MEANS that i would have neither border, nor render; clear enough? Yes change the text, sarcasm rocks doesn't it - it's your sig, not mine. -o-

He's been taking his cc very well actually, maybe you should read the entire topic before posting next time. If you dont want to do that, then dont go jumping to conclusions here. Gold i think i'd like the one with the tech border more if it had a 1px black border outside of that #-o axeraider70.deviantART.com
July 6, 200620 yr Author Hmm.. Yeh... I thought of it but though it'd be a little too ... hard? Thanks axe. =)
July 6, 200620 yr maybe, but then you might want to experiment with making it smaller. maybe transparent and your name sticking out? here is a quick thing i threw together on paint to show you what i mean: Dont use the text i did obviously- but that looks kind of nice axeraider70.deviantART.com
July 6, 200620 yr Ok, I tried a new style... Rate, CC, Tips, Hints, Links, Examples, honest opinions. Update: I know text is no good in this - haven't changed it - forgot about it. =\ My main concern with it is it is very empty. IMO just because the max size is there, doesn't mean you should make it the max size. It would look much better as a 400x80 or so (I personaly think). I'd ditch the tech boarder as well, it just doesn't go with the image (and i'm not a fan of them  Other than that, it isn't bad, but I don't like it 'that' much either. It lacks (from what I think) a decent focal point and the tentacles are realy overused. (at least, back when I started they were realy popular, lol). Overall, it isn't bad. I mean, compared to a lot of the signatures around here it is very nice, but there isn't anything in it that realy stands out to me. (it's realy flat).
July 6, 200620 yr wth is wrong with tip.it community recently? stop attacking gold for gods sakes and give some normal c/c instead of making him look bad most of you try to act like you are at a higher level than him and make meaningless statements to piss him off. btw, im liking the one without the tech border gold, it makes it look simpler but sometimes simpler is better :) -------------------------------------------------------------------
July 6, 200620 yr Yes, it's been done before... it has, it takes alot more effort to create a sig that looks decent without the use of a render. i think that you need to create more contrast in the sig, when doing a sig i always start with a dark background and brush up from that in gradually lighter colours, it creates alot more contrast and ends up less washed out. i also prefer 400x150 or thinner, they get to big and empty. nice though. "A disbelief in magic can force some poor souls into believing in authority and business"
July 6, 200620 yr I agree. It's a little thick. A size of about 400x150 or thinner might do a bit better. I always thought the new limits were a bit over-the-top...
July 7, 200620 yr Author Yeh, I think we all gathered it's too big. I agree, the max limits are there, but dont have to be used. When I had my TIF Shop, if a sig looked empty, I'd just chop some canvas off. Thanks for the feedback guys. :) I'm not gonna be able to make any changes, >_<, because I'm going to my Dad's tonight. :(
July 7, 200620 yr Im not an abstract artist.. but personally, i love it. A render wouldnt suit it; it looks fine on its own. out of the three you posted, #1 is the best IMO. Darker, not so bright to the eye. I personally like the border... but yeah. as i said, cant give CC cause im a pixeller... a newb one at that, but still.... so, nice work Gold, as usual =P~ Featuring in my sig: TURT, ma pet turdle! Thanks to- Runemetsa and Aijiru for two of the great sigs!Avatar made by me

These people can seem slightly harsher with there c/c, tho they only mean to improve quality. o and who MD666 is to criticise? ohh just some guy who was in the real pixel industry and who made game graphics with me..
