It's an interesting idea, and it would be nice to avoid the legions of immature players in RS. But I'm not sure that there's an easy way this could be done.

 

 

 

Until some brilliant way is suggested, I reccomend making some kind of gathering place, or an official world, or an organization. There are a couple older-player themed clans out there with the same kind of purpose as this. Still, good idea. :)

Firstly, it would not work in keeping kids out. Secondly, since asking Age is illegal in Runescape, I doubt they would make something Age-Based. Thirdly, the point? I don't see much point. If JAGeX would introduce a "Friend Chat", it would solve your problem: and also benefit the rest of us.

why not use reverse psychology, make these "adult worlds" all the kids will go there thinking there special..... while all the adults are on the normal worlds lol......

I keep thinking of "Adult Matchmaker dot com" and other strange stuff. For some reason, Adult Worlds sounds to me like Runescape's Red Light District.

I saw this off the of Official Forum, and I totally agree. I've met a lot of mothers and fathers over Runescape, who love to talk about mature matters: Jobs, Kids, Politics, Taxes... and I think its fair to say that they shouldn't be mixed in with children ages 8-13.

Well, being 14. And you cast 14 and above an adult, sure?

 

 

 

But I am quite mature for my age, but even 16 year olds and below are quite immature in this game and make very stupid comments.

Mental Maturity is not determined by age.

 

 

 

Besides, NO OTHER MMORPG has Adult Worlds. Obviously, it does not work and has no point. Besides, if players from other games do not have any problems, why should you? I don't even get what is the problem at all.

I like the idea, allthough it'll probably hard to implement as stated before.

 

 

 

However, declaring an adult world (like 66 for FFL) might be worth a try, because the "little immature" kids would be bored soon with the "adults" talking about politics. This would drive them to other worlds.

 

 

 

That would be the day.... no more "omg t00 much h0m3w0rk!!11!!"etc... I hate 1337speak by all people acting tough and trying to be "all that"...

Hello I am a newbie on this forum (and a noob on runescape) and I came on to this forum precisely to look for threads on this issue. I am an older person who has always loved RPGs since I got my 1st computer and this game is right up my street. My Grandson(!) of 13 told me all the "nerdy kids" at school play Runescape and he couldn't possibly tell his mates I played. My observations lead me to believe his age is the average age of a lot of players. The trouble is, is it a game or a chat room? I want to play the game but it does have a large chat room orientation to it and what worries me is these people who seem to confuse the avatar with the person. I have been asked do I want (when my avatar was clad in trousers) a gf which she kindly explained was girlfriend. I said sorry, female, mature and married! I have been asked by another person who clearly was in my grandson's age group whether I had "done it". Now because they are "playing a game" do their parents realise that paedos could bypass parental blocks and groom these kids? I am really worried by this. Also, because they are really anonymous, they are so rude! They are rude in a way I am sure (hope) they could not be in real life, and when I do get a bit of a courtesy, even a simple "hello" it is so warming. I try to help (free spare weapons to new level 3's) or lead them out of danger when possible. What is wrong with nice now and again? And btw, what on earth are loobies?

I understand the need, but those kids acting the way they do, would just ruin it for many mature players. I believe the Ignore Feature provides the necessary results as an Adult World

im not over 18 but i still think that this idea is good. i really get sick of the 8 yr olds ruining the game. (yes, 8 yr olds! honestly ppl! what is stopping and 8 yr old from selecting "i am over 13 years of age" when they create an account?!?)

Hmmmm... Good idea but age is too discriminatory, there are really nice smart mature young people out there (like me, im 16) and there are others that are just plain... um... mean, not smart, immature people out there. I have met people that said they were 9 years old. So how about taking a maturity test to get into mature specific worlds??

Yeah because adult Runescape players at the end of the day, when they're tired and worn out, really love to log on to RS to talk about politics, council taxes and the house prices. I have a feeling many people play RS for fun and to get away from the real world... :|

Call me hateful and sadistic (my parents do), but it is incredibly entertaining to laugh at the shear immaturity of the majority of runescape players. I enjoy flaming these idiots, killing them, and clearing them at the arena. It warms my heart knowing that the guy who called me a "****ing **** ***** *** lol" can now go back to runecrafting, as he no longer has his full sara armour to stake with, and that he will probably end up geting his behind peekayed by another pathetic player in the process.

 

 

 

However in saying so, I do agree, >18 would be an awesome way to deal with idiots. I doubt anyone under 15 would actually want to be in one of these worlds. However, there will be no way in hell to verify that the users are indeed over 18. Social security number is a stupid idea, considering the amount of people getting key logged and losing their rs passwords, getting your identity stolen would be beyond horrible.

ON TOPIC - I for one hate the imature little ones flooding what use to be a great game. RSC was a great community. We were all mature, no one would scamm, you would see JMods more often, you would die almost all the time - but even then, when you did die generous people would return your stuff. Nowadays when you die, good luck trying to get your bones back. Like COMMON - Ever since miniclip advertised the Runescape community dropped. No one is nice anymore, scamms being pulled left and right, hacking, pking, swearing, spamming.. the list is endless.

 

 

 

I have seen the game from when it was at it's prime, to what it is now. And the imaturity is just ruining the game for us - the older generation.

Not if you have those premium Gold/Platinum/Silver, all of which could max out at like $50,000.

This is part of the underlying problem with Runescape as it is. Jagex's quest to protect privacy is the exact thing that's causing rude people, scammers, macroers, etc to be able to thrive so easily.

On topic, I think adult worlds would be great, as long as there was more to them than just an age difference. No chat filter, we should be able to ask for personal information freely (no getting banned for asking your friend their age or city or something stupid), etc.

 

 

 

Also, to those saying to just go upstairs in some random building or something... how exactly are we supposed to PLAY the game if all we're doing is standing in a room? Some of the best conversations I've had in the game have taken place while mining, ranging, or doing other semi-mundane and otherwise mindless tasks. If we were just chatting standing in a room, we'd might as well use a normal messenger, and ditch the whole game aspect to it.

ok im 13 but i can act reallly nice or ur worst nightmare and it is so gay cuz jagex wants no1 age or anything around and where u live and maybe timezone would be personal info and you cant really organize big events without a unoffical site because u have 5 lines in pm and 200 ppl max and u can message one at a time...

I like this idea also. I am almost 16, not yet old enough to get into one of these worlds, but I whole-heartedly support this idea. If this doesn't happen though, we could just do it unofficially. Example:

 

 

 

World 1, 2, and 3 = Unofficial Market Worlds

 

World 66 = Unofficial Law Running World

 

 

 

Pick some worlds, F2p, and P2p, and post in General forums:
