"Pure"

Does anyone else remember the time when pure didnt just mean that you had low def and prayer? If im not mistaken, back in the day pure meant you were pure combat only. It meant you had lvl 1 in every skill that didnt involve combat. I remember when a character by the name of Miss Runite was going impure she began raising her fishing, cooking, etc. Am i alone?

I thought the definition of a combat pure was your hp is higher than your combat, but that might be the "recent" requirement of pures.

I might have been level 1 in all noncombat skills before, but i cant remember back that far.

pure originally meant you were specialised in one skill.

The RSC definition that was recognised was that your HP was higher than your Combat Level however. With pest control now its a little mucked up though.

finally proof that im am NOT a pure*points to sig*

I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. If they were meant to fly, they won't break their necks on the concrete.
So, what is 1.111... equal to?

10/9.

Please don't continue.

The way it was on RSC and I believe today still is your HP is higher than your combat. :) Not sure anymore though.. Could be wrong. I know that's what it was on RSC, you could have like 5 defense and your str was high and attack was high and your hp was higher than your combat.

well most poeple got prayer=thats impure...

if anyone find that it isn't

why does the combat calculater says:you have to level 1 def OR prayer level to get a combat level...

so you could be 40 60 31 1 pray instead of 40 60 1 31 pray

It meant originally "a pure fighter", which meant that a character didn't have any magic or prayer, only melee skills to make as low combat as possible. Ranged didn't raise your combat like like nowadays so it wasn't really counted in.

Pro Einari (level-119)

Attack 97 Strenght 99 Defence 90 Hits 96

On a break, again.

Actually, ranged raised your combat similarly to how it does now; magic was different. Magic was .125 of a combat, Attack, Def, Hits and Strength were .25, and range didn't affect your combat if it times 1.5 didn't exceed your Att+Str. Same rule, different numbers for Att+Str. There just weren't many, if any at all, range pures because it really wasn't a stand-alone combat skill in RSC, and you didn't gain any hits exp from it.

That's right drethar, however there are afew 99 ranged with 10 hp pures. But they can't do anything on there own.

I say if any one skill is exceptionally higher than your combat level i.e. lvl 70 with 99 fishing, that is pure.

Or if a skill is extremely higher than your average skill level, you are pure.
