PkMARIO
Just because you see less people selling stuff in one city, in the whole rune (maybe even only on 1 world) you think merching is dying? Haha :XD: PkmarioPorygon 64Black Charlizard

Guest TaDaraCampbell
also, a lot of times merchanting will take breaks as people gather the items, then they all sell at once when they see someone else has sold for a higher price so they dont miss out and have to wait till next time, a good example is rune scimmies being merchanted. BloodAngel
Take a walk over to the Help & Advice forum and I can almost Guarantee there will be a topic asking for merchanting help on the first page, and there usually are lots posted a day. -Bloodangel Disclaimer: I haven't actually visited the H&A forums yet so there may not be. Overture18
Merchanting will never stop. It's even more common in F2P worlds, or from what I notice. Wha.. What..? Where am I?
Xaga
It's a pity most of them are poor merchants and only warp prices to the detriment of everyone. RSN: Mutashi
Icingdeath
That's what priceguides are for. I don't know what everyone has against merchants...just because they know more about the economy and have more money than others... I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.
SwreeTak
I don't think merchanting is dying. Always when i pass some bank i see people selling stuff. Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak

Kill_Life
Not dieing. Tough, I think it slows down because of the unstable economy. "A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do"[Currently playing: K1ll L1f3]

Kielmccaul75
Runescape's economy will always be broken, and it will always have a spot open for merchants. The real trouble with Runescape is that there is no extremely efficent money drain. Skills cost a bit, barrows armour repair and food are just about it. Throwing fuel on the fire is the constant influx of money through drops and high alchemy. Unfortunately now that Runescape has come as far as it has, the problem cannot be fixed in a logical way that will leave everyone happy. If they add some decent money sinks like WoW has (constant need to spend money on repairing all worn items, and the constant need to spend money in order to travel in an efficent manner) all the merchants and rare owners will cry because the removal of the masses of money from the economy will of course drop the prices (although, in the long run money will probably become worth more). Really the only solution to the problem would have been to add something long ago that required players to spend, and remove (in other words spend on an NPC) money from the economy. Pretty much all they can do at the moment is introduce a new armour type that is superior to everything else and that must be bought from an NPC at an insanely high price. Oh, and it couldn't be tradeable or it wouldn't work. [/2cents]

Its these idiots I hate. #-o Buying for super-low (coal 140 ea???) selling for super high (coal 210 ea???) Zibl
Dang it! The merchanting town of Seers is crumbling? How will we live!? [/sarcasim] #1 - There has never been a lot of selling in Seers... other than fletching material and nature runes . #2 - Merchanting hasn't died down at all. In fact, over the recent years of prices rapidly dropping (a.k.a rune and tings of that sort), there has been a boost in merchanters IMO because items have become easier for people to get and merchant with. #3 - Merchant for teh win! \ . kagerou
I would relate this to castle wars. Before Castle Wars, you had two options. Dueling or Wildy. Chances of losing your weapons / armor in wildy is high, whereas in Castle Wars, you won't lose your items. So I think the demand for these items has dropped a bit. Not as many people being PKed anymore. In other news... My noob ID bought around 100 steel plate bodies for 200 each... sold them for nearly 4X as much
