If you are reporting them, it'd be for asking for personal details. I don't tend to report people that are being nice to me for asking, but when jerks say "How old are you, noob" I report away. Jagex can deal with them.

It's your choice, but personally I don't care if people know how old I am ... I'm 14 btw 8-)

You should defintely report them for asking for e-mail, aim, yim, uim(ICQ) etc. :shame:

 

 

 

I never report them. I don't even warn them. But you could.

I ask people how old they are, just because I am older and if they seem older, I like to add them as friends if they are in my age group. I would be upset if someone reported me for asking their age.

 

 

 

I have had people tell me things and I tell them they shouldnt be giving personal info out.

 

 

 

If you are asked and dont want to tell, than dont. It is better to be careful, and if someone gets mad about it it is their problem, dont worry about it.

What a nice atmosphere in this game RuneScape, if someone asks for you age, you're reporting them? Are they hurting you by asking you for your age? Is that why you report them?

 

 

 

I hope that Jagex gets annoyed by your reports and bans you, because you are not only spamming Jagex with useless reports that prevent them from spending time on banning actual autoers and scammers, BUT, you are also having the intention to ban a person who asked a friendly question to you that can not harm you in any way whatsoever (unlike asking for you address).

 

 

 

If you don't want to tell your age, then say "I'd rather not tell". But if for that you're going to report them and want their account and hard work banned, that would be antisocial.

 

 

 

The rule for not telling personal details is there to prevent people asking for your address to reach you in real life, or to be able to give you an URL to a scamsite outside of RuneScape. If someone accidently asks you for something that can be interpreted as personal detail in that rule, but has no bad intentions, then why do you want to ban their account? Please tell me that.

 

 

 

I hope to never meet you in RS and will certainly not talk to you, because appearantly you're one of those guys who is the cause of people being innocently banned when they had no bad intentions. Please set both your public and private chat to "off" now, before you cause more harm!

no i ask peoples ages all the time i am 15 and i usususally want to know if they are near my age range. why should i get reported if i just want to be your friend.

seriously like that other guy said i even met a pmod and asked what kind of personal detials were allowed. and he said age country and first name. e-mail aim last anme city even state all of those are not allowed

Also, i have asked a player mod before, and she said that you could ask for someone's location (as long as it is not too specific) or age.

I only report for ppl who just out of the blue ask me, when they ask in a jerky way, or if they ask me so i can be their bf in game :roll:

Exactly, why would you want to make that person misserable when they did nothing to harm you? They can do NOTHING knowing your age, all he was trying to do was be your friend.

There's nothing wrong with asking for someone's age. It's probably one of the most common question asked amoung people (other then "free stuff plz") I don't report them. Don't really see the reason anyone would... #-o

Imperial, if somebody asks you creapy questions (where do you live, name,telephone) all that stuff please report, but if its just age... come on seriously. they are just trying to be friendly. I asked the same question, but I was on the other side of the situation, I was reported for asking for an age, but i was being a jerk to him in that situation.

Wow, that was a wake up call .... Yeah now that i think about it i can just say " id rather not tell " .. To be honest i never really thought of that hehe. #-o I should really think twice before i report someone, im one of those noobs that report every bad thing i see -.- ...

people usually ask for ages with no malicious intent so its not a cause worth reporting for .

 

1. they want to talk to people within their age group or want to know what age group there talking to (different age groups have different interests)

 

2. they say it sarcastically because youre acting immature like a 13 year old (ive done this on many occasions myself)

I'm glad you changed your mind, and sorry for sounding so angry and harsh, I just don't like those stories I hear from people who got banned for saying google and similar things

some people like to make friends and by asking personal info this happens report them if you want its up 2 u.
