Lunar Spells - Slayer Spells

I was attempting slayer the other night and got quite annoyed when all I was getting was Mutated Zygomites and Kurasks for about 5 tasks in a row so I stopped playing.

 

 

 

Came back to RS an hour later and decided to do the new quest. The new quest is very good for slayer, it allows you to cast a spell to telepathically communicate with slayer masters and other NPCs. I got my black mask out + Guthans + dragon battle axe and restore pots and decided to try slayer again. This time I used the Shilo slayer master and got 180 gargoyles, used the fairy rings to teleport quickly to slayer tower.

 

 

 

Got to gargoyles, did the task then used the communicate to NPC spell and got another task of 180 nechs whilst still at slayer tower did that task and then got myself another task and got 150+ gargs, after that task I had to Burthorpe a task (still using the contact NPC spell) and got 10+ crawling hands so I just went downstairs and killed them, burthorped the next task and got several bats so I just went outside to kill them. All of these tasks were done without leaving the slayer tower and all without using food whilst at the same time hitting 30s-40s with daxe spec and black mask. Eventually I had to bank because of all the loot and the lack of restore pots for my d axe specs but it is very good exp now.

 

 

 

So i've changed my mind on slayer for now. Especially if you use the fairy rings to get around along with the NPC contact spell and various other teleport spells.

 

 

 

Also the barbarian outpost tele is useful for getting to daggs as it's just south of the lighthouse and the fishing guild teleport is useful for burthorped Goblin tasks as there's a cave right next to the teleport spot leading to a large number of goblins.

Thats exactly what my friend was saying last night. He loves the new spells for slayer. Plus you got pretty lucky on all the slayer tower tasks.

But what to do when they give you Metal Dragons? You can't use normal magic...

Maybe easier when you also have some tablets in your inv?

And you can use Vengeance if you want a little faster kills :P But it's less fighting xp then.

 

 

 

I havent tested it as my magic is only 81, but if it's effect lasts long, I think it could be useful.

Yesterday I made myself some house tele tablets, and today I built some more portals in my house. I have now all the other teles usable except trollheim, watchtower and ape atoll teles. I think that is good enough as I already got abyssal and nechryal tasks in a row today.

 

Only down sides are that I don't have those mentioned teles and that I will have to make more tele tablets soon as I'm already running low. And I can't alch and I'd need to get some peach-tablets also, because dusts and some other tasks will be harder without peaches..

yea them new spells seem to be real handy. A bit off topic here but r u able to tablets for the new lunar spells or the ancient magiks?

This is exactly what happened to me yesterday, except mine didn't have me in the tower quite as long. First, gargoyles, then nechs, the abbarants, black demons (burthroped to minotaurs.) Used skill sceptre and killed them, went back, and now i'm on bloodvelds. This is going to save me loads of time while training slayer.

I agree on this spell book helps speed up slayer.. ((Where was this begining of the year))

 

 

 

I would recom. that you have 2 portal rooms with 3 portals each.

 

 

 

Also Lectern to make Bones 2 peaches and House tablets.

 

as long as you have a house tablet you can always go back and make more, but having extra on you cuts down your time in between tasks

 

 

 

Not havin Alc does cut down how much you can hold on certain tasks (Dusts, Abbys, etc..) but just make some bank space and alc later on. Also just keep Herbs of Rannar or whatever..

 

 

 

I myself am still testing all the spells and how they will effect the everyday play, but noticed this book helps out slayer training in a very effective way..

Nah, I'm not intrested. It means I ahve to carry around tons of the slayer equipment like nosepegs, hammer, cannon and balls, dusty mask, etc. Too much for me. I prefer normal slaying.

Interesting but not very practicle. The farming tps of the lunar magic cost too much more than the classic spells. It isn't very hard to swap assignments with the old methods.

 

 

 

Since I farm 4 plots b/w assignments I'm stickign to classic magics.

 

 

 

Also the loss of high alc and bones to peaches on assignment is a bit too much to over come.

 

 

 

Don't counter with "Tele home tablets" Becasue the time spent mining and making the tablets will negate all the time you are supposedly saving.

on top of that telegrabbing for greater demon taskes is also removed. i need to switch every single time, but i think i'll actually do that. who knows?

This could be useful...and especially so considering the fact that I've heard rumors about them cutting down on the xp rewards for pest control (by 25%...so the rumor goes at least). If that happens and I get back into slayer as a result...these could be useful.

Someone cast a group fishing tele when I was there. It puts you right outside it.

i havent quite 'experienced" this yet, but when i get back to slayer ( god knows when lol) im gonna do the new quest and see how things go. if i dont like it , back to good ol magic ftw \

But see, I don't really think that saving time is the goal. I think its just to save annoyance. Like the whole reason I don't train slayer much anymore is just that its too annoying. To me, mining 4 loads of clay, then making 4 loads of house tablets is far less annoying than using the normal slayer methods. And to Biabf...why would you need to carry that much around? You're still allowed to use banks you know...

I've tried them out and decided to stick with regular spells. I imagine each person, based on what they are training in tandem wit slayer, will have to decide exactly what optimizes their goals.

 

 

 

I primarily train slayer, farming and herblore. Regular tellies are useful for farming, though you could go through the house loading times every time and use portals. What, for me, is more important are the secondary things I gather on the way to get new slayer assignments. For shilo, WF vials from Ardy and Shilo. On the way to the lost city I gather coal, mith and addy.

 

 

 

Plus I found that the communication helped sometimes, but much of the time I needed an item (noseplug, facemask, rock hammer) or a change of gear (gargoyles to bloodvelds) to continue. So for me the new spells are great, and I'll use them on occasion (I think vengeance might be great on KQ), but I'll stick with the regular book.
