Seems like this topic could lead to flaming or something, due to the whole "rich" or "poor" nature of it.

Your room is nice, but mine is bigger!@, etc. ;P

Your living room is too centered around the television (I can't really speak since I have six televisions, in my house), but I hate that set up.

I'd go and take some pics, but my room is kind of dull, I hardly ever sleep in it anyways, and it's dark, so I can't take photos of my house ;O

Cad, I don't have posters, they make you room look cheap, imo.

Hey lovely dude (lol@name) we do have a middle room which is more formal without a TV., just dont have a pic of it. That is the TV room after all, you may as well it centre it around the TV...

Hehe ;)

I have a living room without a television, but as a result no-one uses it. Lol.

My room at uni last year was absolutely tiny - barely enough for me to live in, let alone entertain guests in.

This picture has a strange effect, the keyboard, monitors and case all look normal sized together - this is because they are all really large. The case is a stacker, the monitors are 21" each and the keyboard is a massive one from the 1980's.

Wow nice set up with the monitors. Im planning on getting another monitor and connecting it to my laptop. If I were to use both my laptop and new screen would I have to set the resolution to the same on both?

It depends how you are doing it. If you wanted to have two screens both using your laptop as an output then you'd need to have a GPU capable of this - as far as I know almost no laptops are. The output on a laptop will show what is on the laptop screen.

However, if you were wanting to use the laptop screen as an extra one, this can be done with some program which allows you to do exactly that over a network. I don't remember the name of it though.

Why do you need two monitors anyway? Or are you studing graphic design Anesthesia?

There are a multitude of reasons which I end up recanting every time I post a picture of my room:

- I am not doing graphic design; I'm doing Internet Computing which does involve using lots of programs at once but it is just generally helpful to be able to have an IDE on one screen and a reference website on the other.

- I like to have lots of desktop space. I have FF on one window, trillian, winamp, my system monitor and process explorer on the other.

- As you may have noticed there is a second machine sitting behind the desk, it runs SUSE 10. The monitors I have are dual-input, with a button on the front to switch between the two inputs. I have got both the outputs from my main machine and the SUSE machine connected to it so I can switch at will. I also use a KVM switch for the keyboard but I like to be able to have the SUSE desktop showing whilst having control of the main machine so I run the output directly to the monitor.

- Finally, why not. It's just handy. Everyone I know who has tried two screens for a while has come to wonder how they ever managed with one.

At a time several years ago I used to use 3, but when I got bigger monitors which could do decent resolutions that was no longer necessary.

Rooms are ok, but posting what your house looks like isn't.

Also please try and hide anything which might reveal personal information about you in the photos.

I would post pics of my room but it's pretty boring. All I do there is sleep and watch tv in it. No posters up because it's been recently re-decorated. I might set up my pc in it someday. So yeah pretty plain.

I made a topic like this but it wasn't locked for the 'what your house looks like thing' it got locked because there was too many 'post pictures of your _____' topics...Meh, oh well..
