They should have 'trade/compete' option under 'Public Chat' so that you only hear people that are in the trade or in another case, starting a duel. -

I love your idea. I've always gotten so pissed in world 1 varrock west bank because it's so hard to read anything when the chat list keeps rising and rising. One solution is to add the player you're trading with and turn public chat onto friend, but that takes too much time :D

I don't wanna be very rude or something like that but..

 

Firstly, you wouldn't even be able to offer 28 different or unnoted items (b sales etc.).

 

I also think that the chat screen would be to small to have a good conversation.
