Whip course is falling and falling

I'm pretty sure that the Dragon Axe is responsible, not an influx of new high-level slayers or a mass merchant panic. Obby shields have been dropping as well; they're going from 300-400k. I was away from a computer for a week, leaving right before the update, and when I came back both the whip and the shield had dropped. Hopefully prices should stabilize soon.

Ive made plenty of money from whips (and still am) so I'm not gunna complain much. If it drops below 1.5m then we'll have some issues.

Heh gratz. But concerning what you said; of course some people will stop camping abbys if whips drop further ( some probably did when they dropped for this 300k) but thats just the way it has allways been. Old ppl leave the place and new 85 slayers come in and join the fun.

 

 

 

But i do agree that there is a limit to how low the whips can fall if they remain the best weapon ingame. Where that limit is i have no clue

Hmm, although blaming dragon axes on this drop of whips seems a bit farfetched there might be some truth in this. I ve seen a number of ppl offering whips for axes on the first day of this update, and if these trades were actually completed then a lot off people were selling a lot of whips last mondey. Could be true...but if so it only put inevitable things into motion.

I agree they have been going down loads recently,first major drop i noticed was when construction came out they went from like 2.9-3m down to around 2.6,and then it does seem like the most recent reduction which seems to be about 2.3-2.4 happened when the d axe upgrade came as some people have said.

 

 

 

Its sad to see when an item like a whip drops so much i mean it used to be a big thing getting a whip but now everyone with the attack level has them im seeing more and more lower combat levels with them everyday :(

I spent alot of time getting my slayer level and I feel me and anyone else who got 85 slayer deserves the money. If you think differently then get 85 slayer :roll:

 

 

 

I happen to disagree with that statement. I'm not entirely sure why people seem to think that the abby whip should be immune to price changes, but it's just like every other non-rare item in Runescape.

 

 

 

More people getting 85 slayer coupled with a smaller demand for whips will result in them being cheaper. Think of it this way-- Every time you get a whip and sell it to someone, you decrease the demand for a whip by one person.

Well alot of things dropped alot when construction came out, and i guess whips never rose back up. I think they are goign to drop because more people get 85 slayer everyday and camp at abbys.

People were saying it was a reasonable price at 12mill, they were saying that is was a reasonable price at 10m, at 8mill, at 5mill and at 2.5m. They will learn to say its a reasonable price at 2.3, at 2m, at 1.5 and lower then that.

 

 

 

Im sure they were saying it was a reasonable price at 12m because it had such an ownage special PvP, but now it stinks so thats why i think it will keep droppin. Along with the slayers getting them.

Actually, other variables include more people getting level 70 attack, and more people earning enough to buy a whip. I could go on... :P

It is just like other tradeable items as drops. The supply keeps going up and it seems like everyone is getting 85 slayer now a days. Therefore there are more whips, and they are worth less. Its not all that hard to understand ( i think #-o )

 

 

 

Whips will continue dropping over time as more people get 85 slayer and camp for whip drops. Nuff said i think :XD:

r2h back in rsc were around 2m on release date...and this was back when 2m could be comparable to 20m+ today

I know that mroe and more people are getting 85 slayer, but what about all those people that are getting 70 attack and a few mill in there pockets? That has to be the #1 reason why they aren't like 1m each by now. Sure more people are getting the drops, but even more people are getting 70 attack. Nowadays the average wealth per player is higher than it used to be so I believe that they'll eventually settle out at a price. Haven't they been at 2.5-2.8m for a few months now? Isn't that a little bit of a sign...?

you can get only once 85 slayer and camp the rest of your life at abyss while you dont buy 2 whips but youc an collect a 100 whips at abyss

dlegs are about the same price as a whip...dlegs are available to anyone with high enough level to kill a bronze+ dragon, and arent too rare of a drop. Whips you need 85 slayer to kill th monster, not as hard as a iron or steel dragon but the drop rate is alot rarer.

I'm lucky i sold my whip a couple days ago, im quite good with luck like that, i usually sell items just before they drop a lot, i'm happy with whips dropping as i'll never have 85 slayer and i could always do with a whip at lower prices.

 

 

 

My idea for why whips are dropping is the amount in circulation, more people getting 85 slayer = more whips, also it could do with even a few people selling say 40 whips each at a lower price, then as most people around them want to sell for a competative price they drop theirs, then a sort of chain reaction occurs and prices drop for a couple days, they might go back up but im not an expert at merchanting so i'm not sure.

I cannot stress anymore how absolutely annoying it is to hear people with 85+ slayer whine and complain like like children about how hard they have to work for something and that they deserve more money.

 

 

 

1) Quit being greedy and focused on money

 

2) If you didn't have fun getting to 85 slayer, then that means you didn't have fun playing the bloody game, which means you seriously need to reevaluate why you are playing runescape.

Anyway you should try getting 85 slayer and see how much time you waste killing abyssals instead of doing other things, I have to waste 6-8 hours of my skill training time to get 1-2 whip drops there and now the price is dropping. If the price drops it means i have to waste even more of my time there to get the cash i need to train my skills.

You literally just gave yourself the solution. If you're wasting so much time doing it, why on earth are you still up in that tower? Did you ever consider that there's other methods of getting money that are most likely faster and easier?

 

 

 

Its like the only way for anyone with 85+ slayer to make money is to get whips. Clearly the other 21 skills are just plain useless when it comes to making money.

It will always be around 2.5. More players are getting 70 attack then those getting 85 slayer. And the whips generated from getting 85 slayer is not enough to saturate the market.

I have never made as much money as I have off of whips, with any other skill. So no im not going to go and do another skill when I need the cash quickly.

Anyways, if it isn't pleasing you to be getting 2.4 per whip because its just too low (i know, puts you in the poorhouse), maybe you should find another way to make money. Just because you haven't found one doesn't mean it exists. Its not like everyone richer than you did it through whips.

Why on earth would you do anything in this game that wasn't fun? Isn't that the point of the game? I'm pretty sure getting as much money as possible isn't the only fun thing to be doing.
