Don't listen to it. Listen to your rap and all

I myself don't listen to runescape music. Seriously, the music bores me out faster when i'm mining

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

I don't listen to the music ingame, and I used to turn my speakers of when loading Runescape worlds because I hated the title music coming on, so loud!

Fortunatly someone told me how to stop your computer playing the loading music so no need to turn off speakers now.

Um Bongo ::'

calvinandhobbessigedite.png

How do you turn off the loading music?

turn off your sound 'til your logged in.

back to rs, i guess. it's been 4 months.

RSN:P H Osho <- gonna start on him soon, fresh.

Disable SW synth in your audio control panel.

I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

I like the music.. Some friend of mine hate it.. So they put volume to 0.

Lately, I have the sound and music on 0 so I can listen to music that I have saved on the comp...

Also, Im (I think I am) the only person that actually recorded music from runescape...

Reading your posts is like playing one of those pre-school games.

Owned? :-w

When I play this wierd game, I turn the speakers on after the "Click here to play!" button, turn the volume off in the control panel, and play my iTunes music. \'

I dont listen to the music, they should Play some Rammstein while your mining and Slipknot while your Pking, so on and so forth.

But on a serious note, the music does get pretty annoying. We should petition for better music, something not made with a synth. IMO of course.

someone suggested pokemon catching. :XD: :uhh:

...Oh vowels...What ever did you do to deserve this?

this guy is hilarious, I swear.

I just mute SW Synth and put on some Slipknot or Iron Maiden. \'

Some of the music is decent and bearable, only JAGeX has to stick to their standard of coming up with something great, then implementing it in a way that's absolutely moronic.

Such as making up good music and setting its zone to be the middle of nowhere.

Oh, and I agree with Bubsa. Stop abusing our language using your ten-foot pole with [bleep]es on.

I'll listen to a song the first few times if it's new, otherwise I have it muted. I do think overall their songs are getting better with new updates though.

Yeh, I've also got the RS music muted so I can listen to my WinAmp playlists. I leave the sound effects on, though, as they often give me critical audio cues when I get distracted.

The problem for Jagex is, how to make the music sound as good as possible while still keeping bandwidth usage low. Unless you want some serious lag and really long load times, this synth MIDI music is about the best we're gonna get. Unless you mean compositionally, but then there's similar problems; there's not a lot you can do with MIDI that doesn't sound like tin foil in a paper shredder. I'm sure they did their best with what they've got to work with, it's just too bad they don't have much to work with.

They make several new songs every month, unless by 'make new songs,' you do mean for them to redo the old ones, which I agree would be a good idea. A lot of new areas get good songs but people only go there for 15 minutes. It would be a good idea to redo songs in like falador and varrock and crouded areas to be more fluid and overall just better like much of the new songs are.

Tyrian is an ancient game in its own right, and its music is in LDSMidi format. Its soundtrack is rather good, and far and away better than Runescape's.

What I see as JAGeX's problem is that their composer is relatively inexperienced, and they haven't bothered to put resources into redoing some of the older tracks. That would probably improve the gameplay experience somewhat, but most of their customers would probably be irritated if they poured resources into updates that didn't add stats or new areas.

the only reason that somone would find me listening to runescape music is if i have no other option. i usually listen to my own music when i am playing. ::'

First Barrows Item From Chest 2/20/2007 - Verac's Brassard :D

I beleive, if Jagex were to change or remove all of the old tunes, there would be huge outcry, cause many people might have strongly identified Runescape with some music to the state of conditional reflex.

Here's a prank you could do: Get any of the most well-know Runescape tunes into your mobile phone, make it play in crowded place, like train station, and see how many heads would suddenly start turning, looking for the source of familiar sounds, while their index finger would begin flexing uncontrollably, trying to set a flag for their next walking destination...

But seriously, anyone checked, in what format are tunes in RS stored on the PC?

I have both sound effects and music on zero to lower lagg on my slow comp.

Runescape ingame name: Rmond (on the forum this name was already taken)
