FrankyBrown
I got a ton of bands i could suggest, here's a few: Slipknot - nah Iron Maiden - yeah Nirvana - yeah (smells like team spirit) Motorhead - yeah Kiss - nah Metallica - yeah Red Hot Chilli Peppers - yeah Static X -nah Mudvayne - nah Sum 41 - nah Blink 182 - nah Silverstein. - nah -Added Aerosmith - love in an elevator the clash guns n roses inxs the jam the kinks - lola r.e.m queen train wham the who Done! :-# Um no Smells like teen spirit is a good song but there are quite a few more great Nirvana songs  Since everyone else has already given you plenty of great bands I'll just say a few nirvana songs since you mentioned them :P Breed, Territorial pissings, Serve the servants, Heart shaped box, Opinion, the mtv unplugged album+Do Re Mi (but only if you like acoustic), lithium, About a girl, In bloom, You know you're right, Mexican Seafood, verse chorus verse, downer, sliver, come as you are and I'm going to stop here because I'm just rambling (althought there is alot more ) Basically if you're a fan of nirvana try dl all there songs and choose which ones you like. (Sorry it's just they're the band that got me into music and I just love them, they were my perfect band :3>) First person to say they're crap and overated gets a "I'm insecure so I have to insult others taste in music over an internet forum because I can't grasp the concept that not everyone loves metal and people should be allowed to like whatever music that makes them happy!' badge  Seriously for you people insulting bands just leave it, so what if you don't like them? The people that mentioned them do so just leave them alone, people have different tastes in music noone is better than anyone else =\ Lol I ranted accidently
caligula101
Wow, thanks for all the suggestions guys, i do have 60gb of space to fill so no doubt can fit a fair few songs in. Even if some of you do disagree i'll try the songs out and see for myself. Thanks again!
Ianbur
Punk rock is what you want ! Green day Billy Talent Fall Out Boy The Kooks (indie) Paramore Snow Patrol Except none of them are actually punk. It's laughable you have the Kooks, who are a pop band, and Snow Patrol, who still belt out Fran Healy E-Sides in your list claiming to be punk. Anyway I can recommend: Oasis REM Muse The Strokes Radiohead Best five bands in the world in my opinion.

Where's Guns 'n' Roses, Van Halen, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax? Didn't see them here, excuse me if they've already been posted. Mugutu

ice_ring
Donavon Frankenreiter The Postal Service Death Cab for Cutie Muse Try these four. You'll get four completely different types of music, and if you like what you hear, just tell me (pm is fine), and I'll give you more bands like the one(s) you like. I would suggest not getting too much punk rock, as one song is just like the other. Yay for Postal Service! Only, Death Cab and Postal Service are very alike, considering they have the same lead singer, i think.

Joe_Potato
Hmm, you like Van Halen? Well then, obviously you want Van Halen I and II, 1984, and maybe Fair Warning. Van Halen I is probably one of the most important albums in the history of music (people will deny it but everyone knows it's true). Along with that, you'll probably like Foreigner, Aerosmith, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, Bad Company, Cream etc, maybe some Beatles. Hmm... Queen (Bohemian Rhapsody is a must have), Rainbow, Jimi Hendrix. And I HIGHLY reccomend Pink Floyd's Piper At The Gates Of Dawn and if you get into it Pink Floyd, DSOTM. All morons hate it when you call them a moron.-Holden Caulfield, The Catcher in the Rye
