caligula101
K guys i just got a 60gb Ipod, my dad gave me and I need to fill it. So i'd like it if people could suggest bands and songs I could download as i've never had an ipod/mp3 player before so don't listen to music that much. I like bands like nirvana, guns and roses, van halen. None of that dance, trance, prance whatever the hell it's called hippity hop st00f. Rock etc is my genre so im open to suggestions :) Thanks in advance!

megadedhed
i would proboblty listen to "the melvins", they were basically the band invented grunge (kurt cobain holds them very highly) but they have ALOT of cd's, so i would recomend either houdini or stoner witch Sigs made by Runemetsa, Nuzza, Dark_Shadow, Kuroi and Me.liquid blobs attacking eachother American Anime... Guest XplsvBam
fastest way to get good music is by looking at movie/tv show soundtracks. Because they are payed professionals to find good music for those movies/tv shows. Plus the search gets you more into the music and it actually means something to you. If you like punk music/alternative look up movies like american pie 1/2/wedding eurotrip ect. If you like slightly harder rock look up movies like blade, queen of the damned matrix ect. If you like classical rock, I'm sorry but thats just depressing. Its good but my goodness its OLD. google->"american pie" soundtrack. Some movies have composers so there wont be any bands (ie. lord of the rings.) The best thing about this is it lets you experience like 10 different bands at a time to see if you like any of them. Chances are if they are on a popular movie they are good. But if you just ask for peoples lists you are going to end up with alot of music that sounds the same and ultimatly really isn't your style in the first place. zach312
Punk rock is what you want ! Green day Billy Talent Fall Out Boy The Kooks (indie) Paramore Snow Patrol Fall Out Boy should die a fiery death by the hands of God. They are the worst band EVER. 1. You can't understand anything that lead "singer" (if he can be called that) says. 2. Their songs usually make no sense whatsoever. 3. Their basic song pans out like this: -First, they start with a bad baseline and/or guitar riff. -Next comes some "singing" that sounds like some kind of large dying animal. -Then comes an overly-glorified chorus that involves horrible falsetto "singing" and no more than 3 chords, courtesy of their guitarist. -After this, they go back to another verse, again not understandable. -Yay, another chorus. -And here comes the bridge! Some more "singing". -Chorus one last time, then an unnecessarily long outro. Owned. Oh, and he needs progressive/classic rock much more than punk rock, such as Yes, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Coheed and Cambria, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana (kind of a mix between progressive and grunge, but whatever), and others. runemetsa
If you want well-balanced good-overall musical rock set with quite new material I'd suggest these: Queens of the stone age (maybe best riff-rock there is) the strokes (boys from N.Y, damn good rock) radiohead (ok computer rated as the best album in the world in all genres :!: ) muse (everyone likes muse \, queen is dead, long live muse ) foo fighters (classical very good rock. Dave Grohl is nicest man in rock) franz ferdinand (unique indierock) Lenny kravitz (there is no such a person that would not like lenny kravitz, really) Arctic monkeys (new britt-rock) the white stripes (stylish rockish alternative thingie) In case you want some super-progre I'd suggest kingston wall. No offence, but afterall those bands are bit more fresher than bands such as guns 'n' roses, m̮̦̉̉tley crue, iron maden, the scorpions ect. why everyone still worship bands with all their members like... dead? no offence, they still are good music, but really, get to 21th century pl0x [Star Wreck][PM me][My gallery][DeviantArt][Cool T-shirts!][iron Sky - Trailer is now out!]
insane
Donavon Frankenreiter The Postal Service Death Cab for Cutie Muse Try these four. You'll get four completely different types of music, and if you like what you hear, just tell me (pm is fine), and I'll give you more bands like the one(s) you like. I would suggest not getting too much punk rock, as one song is just like the other.

I actually think some of their songs are kinda catchy. Listen to Six Feet Under then say Fallout Boy is a bad band. God, Six Feet Under honestly sound like they're burping into the mic. :uhh:
