GregEchidna
He was trying to buy an abyssal whip for awhile, started off saying 'buy whip,' (which is bad itself) but gradually started spamming the chat box with: by wip by wip by wip Ah, Adam, I feel your pain. ;) You've got to love those, eh? Bombing, I'm not necessarily talking about things like 'g2g' and 'lol,' although I can't say I'm fond of them at all - I meant abbreviations almost solely for RuneScape. Like 'wc' or 'unids.' I'm glad to see many people share my dislike of 'plz.' :) Something funny about 'plz,' I don't even read it as 'please!' In my head I read it as 'pulls.' :D That's just how it looks like it'd be pronounced. -GregEchidna Third player in RuneScape to 99 attack, strength, defense and hitpoints. ThurinEthir
I've come up with a few more I don't like... BS-The first time I saw someone say this, I thought they were talking about (Insert innappropiate words here). LMAO- One of the letters stand for a word that's sort of inappropiate. Jagex used it in an examine for someone (I forget who), so it's not inappropiate to Jagex, but I consider it as a way to sort of bypass the censor, which is reportable. M8-Why can't you just type two more letters? And does calling people "mate" make you cool or something? PK- :ohnoes: I'm not a Pk-er...I've only been in the Wild once, for Dragon Slayer. I hate Pk-ing... PPL- What the heck is a pupul? It sounds like pupil, which is either part of an eye, or a student. I don't think anyone that plays RuneScape is part of an eye. And I don't think that a teacher would meet one of their students in RuneScape...That would be strange... Thx/Thnx- I used to say "Thx"...It sounds like "thucks". And "Thnx" sounds like "Thunks". None of those four "words" have to do with thank you, since there's no "X" in thank you. Ur- This is a little inappropiate so I won't post why... WP- It's usually said through PMs. They're also usually from people you don't know. Y- First of all, "?"s are rarely used with it. Also, it's usually said after I say "no". Sometimes it's when people want to sell me something, sometimes people want to scam me, or maybe go player-killing with me. I'm not going to buy something I don't want to, ovciously I don't want to get scammed, and I explained that I hate player-killing above. Abbreviations I use: Ty-Very common, and is a lot shorter than "thank you". Also makes more sense than "Thx" and "Thnx". LOL-For things that aren't funny but are supposed to be. ROFL-For the things that are actually funny. GP-I am NOT typing out coins or gold pieces. K-Only for 1000, I'm not typing out 3 extra zeroes, PLUS coins/gold pieces. Mil-I rarely use it as I only have 2 Mil, but when I do, it's better than typing out million or the extra 6 zeroes. Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.

swedishlf
In moderation I don't mind most abbreviations. The one that really bugs me though is "I'm going to" or "I'm gonna" shortened to Ima: brb, ima get something to eat. Worst of all is when it's used in the negative. I HAVE seen this done before: Just let a guy tele me to ice plateau and got pked, ima not do that again. That one makes me want to do some violence. m3ta93
Not much to do with runescape but... I am a math teacher and I have told my students that it is ok to abbreviate long math terms. What I hate is when my students shorten "associative property" to a 3 letter word... Take a guess at how much homework I get turned in that has a curse word in it? moopymitchell182
I hate it when people put your instead of you're. I would hate to be a person that does that, just because I've seen noobs who bother to put an 'e' on the end of of 'ur' to make them look slightly smart. Drawde_3
When I am speaking to someone I don't know (such as when I am typing here, not everybody knows me) I use grammar. Noobish? Maybe. Depends how you define noobish. and anuder thing is that i h8 peepss who type leik thisss Type in black. Please. Colours (Australian spelling) like red are hard to read. Especially when you're writing as bad as a two-year-old. (Genralization, not meaning to offend any two-year olds reading this post). bedman
I dont really detest the ones you have written. Rofl: Wannabe cool Lmao: Idem Roflmao: double as stupid as the previous ones Wot: Why the o??? And everything with 0 in stead of o/a/e. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! t3h
Most abreviations don't bother me at all, the exception is when the whole message is abreviated but then if its an exetremely long message that would otherwise not fit in it doesn't bother me. Now, using the buy/sell abreviations i see as completely fine as it is a god-send when in world 2 trying to buy that dds, which brings me to my next point of large words being abreviated, i don't know about you but i don't really want to stand there and constantly type " Buying dragon dagger super poisoned 50,000 gold pieces " by the time i had written that i could have typed " buy dds 50k " posibbly 10 times, this applies for an abundance of other abreviations. My final point is that just because you are are well educated or have a high or average understanding of the english language does not mean everyone else in this game does, and seen as RuneScape is for anyone that complies with thier rules these people will be playing the game so just be polite enough to give them your patients and if that fails jagex gave you that ignore list for a reason. dutchdreams
Latest I've come across several times now is "kl". I have no clue what it stands for: does it stand for 'ok, lol' or is it short for 'kool' ? I have no clue. I've had 5 people reply it to me now after I told them what I was up to. I guess I'm getting old ;)

Nabbagad
I hate it when people use buy/sell, its annoying when someone says: "buy nature runes" or something like that, because the first time i saw this i though the person was telling his friend to buy nature runes.
