amazizing333
i know this has already been posted but read on... i just got an e-mail saying this: Due to a recent surge in new Runescape accounts, we are carrying out checks on all accounts over one month old to clarify which are still active. Accounts we discover still to be active will be untouched, however accounts which we find are inactive due to lack of response to this email will be locked and potentially terminated. Therefore, we ask that you prove you are still using your Runescape account, Grim Reap437, by replying to us, and providing us with the following information, so that it matches what we have on our records: 1) Your Runescape Name 2) Approximate date that you created the account 3) Your Runescape password for this account 4) Your current Bank PIN number for this account 5) And if possible, as many previous passwords as you can remember. The Runescape staff already know these details, we simply need you to confirm them. Please either reply to this email with the reply button, or send a new email with the required information to [email protected] We thank you for your co-operation, and would like to remind you that if we hear no response your account may be locked and terminated. Yours sincerely, Andrew Gower and the Runescape Staff. AND heres the weird thing... the ONLY runescape fansite i've joined is Tip.it, so how did THEY get my e-mail in the first place? is there a bug or a hacker in the Tip.it system or something? i want to report this scam e-mail to jagex, but i don't know were to find the place to report it. i tried the search already and the report bug is for only reporting BUGS in the game... plz help! :ohnoes:

Cdub
Yes, it is a scam e-mail. Besides the fact that Jagex says they'll NEVER e-mail you, there are a few other tell tale signs. A couple things that might make you say, "Perhaps this guy didn't think things through very well". 1) Jagex Staff would have their own domain name. They aren't going to use hotmail for non-personal e-mail accounts. Period. 2) You and I both know Jagex is a company based in the UK. Why would they make an e-mail account with a ".com" address? Even IF they were to use hotmail (which they wouldn't), it would be hotmail.co.uk. Just a couple tips, but they're really irrelevant, because Jagex will never e-mail you.
