Nadril
At our current level of tech, a complete (I consider RS2 a 2d array) 3d landscape with cartoony characters is just fine. I dont care about seeing Shack sweat during a game. Agreed! But it brings so much more realism to the game. :') NEWSFLASH! You're playing a FANTASY GAME!. It's sad, people caring so much about looks, when it's gameplay that's most important. Atleast, in this state we're living in: where graphics are so good already. Good graphics do help the imersion, that's for sure. Obviously right now you would probaly get more scared from Doom III than Doom I or II, for example. However, gameplay is always the number one element in a game. I would probaly rate the needed elements like this: -Gameplay -Graphics -Control -Sound :)
Bubsa
I don't think better graphics is something to hype about. Precisely. We'll just be able to see better how crap a game is. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.

Nothing worse that you sweet looking game that needs 3 hands to play decently ;) Actually, gameplay + control can probably be bundled together. For the most part I'd rate them all about equally however. For example, even if a game looks incredible and can be a ton of fun to play, if you can't actualy control what you are doing or it sounds like crap it's not going to be a good game. Graphics, to an extent, are needed. Obviously there are many good games that are older (graphics engine not as high tech obviously) and a lot of those stay good due to good art design. They may be more blocky or lest sophisticated looking, but they still look pleasing to the eye.
Masterofpuppets
I've always hated playstation. I was perfectly fine with my N64 back in the 90s. And even though I think the gamecube is just a purple box that plays games like Cuddle Bear Fun Adventures In Rainbow Town, I still think that the Wii is gonna be awesome. Personally, I think that microsoft is gonna be on top this time around though. According to all the idiot mainstream gamers that love their PS2s and say that xboxs are pieces of crap, the best system is the one that starts first. So I guess they'll have to give up their crappy controllers with flat buttons that hurt your fingers after a while and accept the confortable, fandidlyastic xbox 360 controllers. I haven't even seen any really good games for ps3 yet. All I've seen is about 50 million animeish games (nothing wrong with them, but there is such a thing as too many). 360 is pretty much gonna own this december. \ DinoSAUR!!! Flying through la-ZERS!!!! LGBR
Luckily, I live in north America. I'm still getting one for $600... But I don't really give a crap for the Blu-Ray. It's not needed or wanted by anyone and it costs about $250 to add it to the system. So far they've ripped Nintendo, added Blu-Ray, overpriced the system $250+, and delayed it. What next? where did they rip nintendo? if you say anything that starts with a t then ill make you look like an idiot The world would be a whole lot better if little green men in UFO's came down to earth to abduct rednecks. The last one is the main one right now.

Captaingoodguy
To take advantage of the "amazing" graphics wouldn't you have to buy an expensive HD TV to play it on as well? Might as well buy a computer. I really hope that the developers start to realize that no matter how flashy a system or game is that it can still blow horribly disgusting chunks. Maybe thats why the WII looks funner than some supercomputer plugged into your TV? It doesn't include the cables for high def as well, so gotta buy those  . So honestly, that 600$ price tag is more of around 1000-1200$ once you get a TV that will show off the games graphics decently :) .

One thing about that, IBM have been producing chips for Wii since July, so there wont be as big a shortage as there was with 360 or will be with the PS3 so you probably wont be able to resell them for stupidly high prices on ebay. How2PK
Haha, with the 360 was horrible! We had only two of them on the day of realse! One pack with all the extra stuff, and one core system!
