It's bassicly like a "better" DVD drive. Blue ray disc's allow you to hold more info, blah blah blah.

It's not just the sony that does playstations, seems like a lot of the divisions of sony are like that. (SOE in paticular as well).

The graphics aren't going to matter much if the system it's self is fairly instable.

 

 

 

Sony has been having a hard time getting all 8 cores to work. So, they have settled with some units only having 7 of the 8. The thing is.. is that these are prone to go out sometimes, and if you go below 7/8 cores the system will probaly fail / work poorly.

 

 

 

The graphics "may" be more supperior (but honestly, thats not that big of a deal because PC's will always be supperior to the PS3. Plus, at least in the first age cames coming out, the graphics on the PS3 are about equal to the Xbox360). but yet the actualy technology is still fairly new, and realy instable at times.

You forgot the part that around the 6 month mark sony decides the game isn't "good enough" (Even though finaly turning it into a... decent game) and completly changes the gameplay, from a MMOFPS to a Puzzle game.

 

 

 

And of course, EA would continue to release their patches swearing up and down they would fix a bug that has plauged the game since release, and every patch the game seems to get worse.

 

 

 

 

 

And of course, at about the 9-10 month mark EA would close the game down, no matter how many players are playing it.

well, i wasn't planning on getting a ps3 anyway but if i was going to get a third generation console it'd be the wii, but this guy in my school, he is a nintendo fanatic, he had an argument with another guy in my school as to which was better: playstation or nintendo, this i don't mind but he actually gave the other guy a piece of paper entitled "10 reasons why the wii is better than the playstation 3" now that is what i call obsession

It's a different kettle of fish I think, the Wii is being hypes by the (future) consumers whereas the PS3 is being hyped by the developers.

I don't really mind if it is delayed, i've been promised that if I do well in my GCSE's (Bs and above) i'll get one. So really, they can delay it for a short while longer, that way i'll be able to pre-order and be like "omfg i gawt a PS3 before you!"

The gamming community is in a bad position right now because nearly every game is following the same cookie cutter stragity. Right now companies are spending more and more on artists to create these picture perfect landscapes that the scripting and programing are being neglected.

 

 

 

At our current level of tech, a complete (I consider RS2 a 2d array) 3d landscape with cartoony characters is just fine. I dont care about seeing Shack sweat during a game.

Luckily, I live in north America. I'm still getting one for $600... But I don't really give a crap for the Blu-Ray. It's not needed or wanted by anyone and it costs about $250 to add it to the system. So far they've ripped Nintendo, added Blu-Ray, overpriced the system $250+, and delayed it.

Agreed! But it brings so much more realism to the game. :') NEWSFLASH! You're playing a FANTASY GAME!. It's sad, people caring so much about looks, when it's gameplay that's most important. Atleast, in this state we're living in: where graphics are so good already.
