I was experimenting at pest control yesterday when i say a low lvl pure mage/defence killing things using the spell 'Fire Strike'. I couldnt see how it could possibly be any good at all, i was intreaged so I asked him about his method... and i was amazed! He started with 10k gp. He Went to an almost emppty world to the rune shop on Pest control island and bought 300minds, 600airs and got on his range gear (full mystic, zammy cape, lava battlestaff and elimental shield) and headed for a high level PC world. He found he was only using around 20 shots per game and easily getting his 50 hits. Then used the money he earned from the game that could buy him 30 - 40 more shots of the spell. This makes him 10-20 shots of the spell wealthier which he banks.

 

Then came the surprising bit, when he has 5000 shots banked he takes them (and tele runes and dusty key) and heads to the Taverly Dungeon blue drags. He uses fire strike to kill the drags, banks all bones and hides and keeps them. So far he has 5k+ bones and 7k+ hides in bank from doing this and is still making a profit from it, and a bigger profit as he gains levels.

 

So i gave the method a go and the results are amazing! I strongly urge you people to try this method as it is good money (if you put in the time) and incredible EXP thanks to the PC Zeal.

Let's say it takes 2 min a game, and he get 20 spells extra a game. That's only 600 spells in an hr, which u can just make from skilling or something. Good if ur bored though lol.

But do you make money back for the runes you use?

that is good, but it will take a long time

1) I must say it does take a long time, but i did say that.

 

 

 

2) All the runes you get are profit in the first place. Then collect the blue dragon hides and/or bones and sell them. As long as you are not using more than 100casts on each dragon (highly unlikely at 50+ mage) you make profit over the price of the runes (You use 3 runes, each rune can be up to 15gp each, so thats 45gp per cast. Sell hide and d bone for 4.5k, so 4500gp divided by 45gp cost = 100 casts)

 

 

 

3) The general idea behind this way of training was how can i use mage to gain exp and give me more runes than i started with. I kno of another few ways but the mage exp isnt as good per hour to be honest (this is worked out per week, last day of the week is used on dragons)

Sooo from 5k shots you friend got 5k dragonbones? It's a spell that maxes 8, and he's firing it at a creature that is know for its excellent mage defence. Not to mention it has like 100hp :? .Usre, it's cheap xp that gives you hp but apart from that it isn't that brilliant. I'll take my chaos runes and matching gauntlets over that any day.

A valid point indeed, and i didnt make this very clear, so sorry about that. He didnt get all the bones and hides from one trip. But he is saving them from every trip he makes. He is seeing how much cash he can make from 10 of runes so is selling them all in one day when he gets 99mage... which i am sure will be an insane amount of cash

Hmm, looks like a good method. I have to say that the PC rune shop was very wise, in a less-busy world, for getting runes. Sounds like a really good method, again, maybe I should try it sometime...

 

 

 

Once I get the money, you know, I'm incredibly poor for my level. Never made 1 mil before, the maximum I've ever made in one load before spending it was 250 k. Sure, I can make 10 k easy, but 100 k... not so much.

You dont really need need 10-20k. Hope to see you, and alot of others, trying this method. I have just finnished a blue drags period maself. I hav worked out it is taking me around 30-40 shots to kill each drag. I might set up a world for this method of training or maybe just a mage world with a website. That is still just an idea though.

Yer, but the guy had been training with this method from level 40... and he is now level 78 only training mage and defence. he is almost able to wear ahrims :shock:

this is a good way to level hp with mage, as the only other effective methods are alching

good idea for the less wealthy people. but id say crafting your own is the best way to get runes. personally firestrike is good and cheap to raise mage till 60 mage

not that its wrong, but i think u just made the guide as if u saw some1 doin it, u went into a bit too much detail for sum1 who u dont know at all, why would he bother telling u so much? so i think u just acted like u saw sum1 else doin it so u wont get flamed as much if it fails

Yeah Fire Strike is a decent spell good for cheap mage exp

When i was low leveled i used to do this, but i didnt go to dragons i just stayed at pest control. Now i just high alch.
