I am just curious as to how well Barrows works as the "main" money maker for any of you who use it as your prime source of Income (do the items/runes outweigh the expendable items you use like food/runes/arrows etc). I am also curious as to what Prayer Level you think is required in order to do barrows with no prayer pots?

I find barrows a great way to make income, I think its a personal choice of prayer pots to fish, to see what makes it better for you. The object is to get as many barrows runs per trip. I myself use guthans to heal and only pray on karil and dharok.

One of the best, up there with green drags for me ;)

other than dagg kings, its the best way of making money as long as you dont use prayer pots.

I do. Note: I'm poor. But it is a very god one if you aren't mega rich. Ido it without prayer pots. All you do is use acients. Prayer on Karil only beacuse you already have payer and mabye ahrim. Other than that just frezze them. Hope I've helped

before i started barrows the most money i'd ever had was like 850k in money and items or something. the first few trips i made lost me money because i was using around 7 pray pots but now i grow my own ranarrs (20k for the seed and you can then make 42k worth of pray pots) and use them. on a good run i can use 2 pray pots but my average is aroun 3 and a half to 4. this is still more than most people but i pray against the bro in the tunnel (call me a noob or w/e if you want.) as you can see, i'm no barrows veteran (about 30 runs now) but so far i have made over 3.8 mil and spent about 100k-200k on food and ranarr seeds. i think it's well worth it.

i have a friend who was very successful with it and could get through 10+ trips with 100 bloods to start out with although he recently died on dharok and lost whip,guthans,full karil and alot more so its very risky

it can be great source of income if u have decent combat and good mage and prayerlvl... People seem to forget this quite often...

 

I only use some monkfish and maximum 2 dose of a prayerpot per trip (most of time none). Players who need to buy a dozen sharks and 4 prayerpots per trip are fooling themselves...

not necessarily, some people just prefer to be safe than sorry. i'm one of these people: i take 5 pray pots (2 for security) and about 12 baked potatoes with cheese. i use a 'noob' method but it works for me, i've made over 3.5 mil profit so far and it;s growing each day.

And how does it compare to Killing green Dragon's? Mainly in terms of a regular income. I know that you can make millions from one object in the Barrows, however when you average it out are you making better money than other forms

yeah, i make the pray pots myself but i buy the potatoes, 9gp each lol, can;t lose much money on them.

I do it the old fashion way, praying against all the brothers, about 5 doses of super restore per chest, and I make a decent living there if I'm tired of the Abyssal Demons. The runes and bolt racks always make up for the potions, even though I make them myself with farming and herblore.

I don't know about you, but i used to pray on every brother, until I got enough drops (My siggy) to buy full torags, which I use now. Now I use max of 2 pray pots and about 12-14 lobs per trip. That is 14k+1,8k=16,8k. I get enough runes (chaos and bloods) that pay totally for my trips. 33 average bloods per trip is more than enough to pay for the epxenses. I get often 40-70. (I got no bloods before I started getting my KC to 10, which I strongly advise).

I usually do 10 runs at a time and i can make 750k just from runes and bolts when im unlucky so thats an average of 75k per run. Each run takes me around 10 mins so it is definately a better money maker than green dragons.

Bought my own p pots, around 4 - 6 p pots per run. Only done 6 runs EVER. And only got 1 barrows item dharok legs. Still haven't sold it though, personally i think barrows is just a bit of fun unless you have high levels or a veteran barrower at it.

iv made over 17mil by barrows and i pray on every bro if im not using a safespot,I just dont want to die.

Wow, is that 75K pure profit? Or is it 75K minus expendables like food and pots?

It's my main money maker. I use full veracs for it. On an average trip I use 2 doses somtimes when lucky 1. But the most is 2 full pots (with dharok or karil in tunnels). So far with really lucky item drops I have afforded maybe today full guthan and my whip I sold for the Veracs back. Even when using 2 p pots the runes from a 22 kill count easly pay for it.

or you could always be unlucky like me and taking 125 trips before my first drop -.-

I consider myself a veteran barrower. And it has been my main source of income as well. I've made over 140m from it and wasn't stingy on using prayer pots either. I pray on all brothers (including verac. People don't relize that not all of his hits are because of the spec. You could save yourslef 1-2 sharks a fight with prayer on. That spells another go with him from past experience.) I use Arhims/magic dart and have an obby shield, a whip, black dhide top, crystal bow, death & mind runes, spade, ectophial, a holy wrench, 8 prayer pots and the rest monkfish (or sharks.) I use about 1.5 pots per run (including recharge when I come out of the tunnel) I've spend all of my money on a Green Parthat, but after 1-2 more drops I'll be using guthans, which would eliminate all but 2-3 food and make atleast twice as many runs as before. I get mid-low 20's as a KC because I make about 5-30k profit off each run I've found. I haven't tried doing it without prayer pots because I'm a little bit of a pansy, but I don't mind that. :

 

 

 

Best of luck giving it a try and remember to get a healthy KC because many dryspells can put a person out of business. When I don't get an item after 10 runs I slip my KC up to the 40's to make a very good profit. Last time it was soemthing like a 30 run dry spell, but with a really good 40+ KC I was made over 3.5m WITHOUT a drop.
