Anywho, my friend and I bought this game two days ago and it's so much fun. It's much better than the Old School pokemon, and the story is actually different, none of this "Little baby trainer gets to the top." type thing.

 

 

 

It's more mission based and in my opinion, alot more fun. What I find awesome about it is, if your entire party gets killed in a dungeon, you can get your friends to rescue you via Wireless connection between DS (not internet), or the use of these things called "Passwords."

 

 

 

I find it pretty fun, anyone else have the game?

I don't find the RPG's childish at all, some of the TV episodes are a different story altogether.

 

 

 

I read on my mobile phone news that you actually play as a pokemon this time. I'll check it out or if I feel 'evil', do a bit of emulating... :)

lol! i wanted pokemon red mystery dungeon since i only have a gameboy SP. wen did it get realesed? is it really fun? i still want it even if pokemon is a little childish... :

I've always loved those pokemon games. I'm planning on getting the next one for the GameBoy SP .. If one is even coming out for it. I'm waiting for the Nintendo Wii to come out so i'm not going to get a Nintendo DS.

The game is really really fun, you get to be the Pokemon, and it's not the "Wild grass/Trainer" battle system, it's more of "Dungeon Crawler Pokemon Pop up and attack you with no transisition to battle scene" type thing.

 

 

 

The next old style pokemon game is Diamond/Pearl which is coming out 2007(?) for DS..

 

 

 

If you don't have a DS you can get Red rescue for Gameboy Advance (-cough cough- emulate -cough cough-), it's pretty much identical but without a (practically) useless secondary screen.

They were cool when I was youg. They don't amuse me anymore. They were awesome games though!

I was getting ready to say that. That's about when I quit playing pokemon games. IMO old-school pokemon is the best. The only bad thing was all of the talking that you had to go through was pretty annoying.

Mainly like pokemon because of it's long play time. Different starting pokemon and to get all of em lol. Except mew, that's impossible up to gold+silver without gameshark. Don't know why they count it if you can't get without gameshark.

I like the traditional trainer and capture type game. I haven't played any in awhile, and I probably should give the new one a try, but I don't really like how much I'd miss out by not having anyone to play/trade with. Feb 2007 for the diamond/pearl version. I just never feel too old for those games. :P

i just got that game today and apperently my personality is kind and im a mudkip (i wanted to be pikachu or squirtle) with my cindaquail(sp?) partner in team [garden tool][bleep]er (get it fire and water?)

Yeah, once you get half way through the game you'll finally evolve. I just defeated Moltres and I still haven't evolved (My squirtle and Bulbasaur are both level 26 too!)

I havn't played a Pokemon game in a while, but as a kid i lovedddd loved Pokemon. Yeah, sure they're aimed for younger kids, but they're a classic.

Ok, got that out of my system. Anyways, I loved the old ones for gameboy when I was a kid. Red and blue (I had red and my little brother had blue I think). Man... Half of the time playing that game I spent trying to find out certain cheats, such as how to get mew >_<. I swear.. that's got to be one of the larger gaming hoax's out there.

 

 

 

 

 

I still remember telling my little brother all sort of stupid stuff that was a "cheat". Like you had to talk to this guy 250 times and he'd give you something lol. So, of course, he tried it and always wondered why it never worked :lol: :D :D .

You can get him legally, only after you've beaten the first three gym leaders. You go to the road to Saffron City and there's a trainer. As the ! sign pops up over his head, you must quickly press start, then fly to Saffron City. When you go left, a wild Mew #151 level 10 will attack you.

 

 

 

It's a totally legitimate way of getting it and most 'underground' forums knew this code since the game came out, it's a hard coded and intended trigger in the game. Apparently the information came from the developers and is the only way to get it without GameShark codes (that could mess up the cartridge)

 

 

 

Also if you play the Japanese version (pokemon green), you will get Mew by talking to the diploma guy in Celadon city after you have 150 pokemon. Then you can trade it to a red or blue. :)

i just beat zapdos with mudkip, cyndaquil, and magnemite. (boy fighting the pokemon on mt thunder was hard with a water pokemon yet i was the only one who had a move that was super effective \ )

Hahaha, I remember doing the same thing. I would always look up "pokemon red cheats," and I would always get so much crap that didn't work. I remember a few codes for getting mew and a few codes for getting some other pokemon that didn't exist, and you would have to beat the elite four ten times then talk to someone or something like that. I spent so much time doing that, and what did I get? NOTHING. Man that made me so angry.

This actually looks like a good new direction. I'll probably buy it for my advance. Good ol eBay!

I've tried it for 20 minutes or so, and I found the combat system to be really tedious. I also found it to be a bit too childish, for lack of a better word, even for a Pok̮̩̉̉mon game.

Thanks to this thread, I'm going to start playing Pokemon Red and my friend is going to play Blue, and we are going to probably race to see who can beat the elite four first. This sould be fun =D. Oh, the memories.

I haven't played it since Pokemon Yellow. I beat Red and Yellow with 1 extremely strong lvl 99 pokemon. lol
