What's with construction bots?

I'm a lvl 3 skill pure, and while I'm making oak planks, I always notice like 2 or 3 construction bots everytime I log on. What's up with the recent increase of bots? It seems so sad people that rich couldn't just buy a butler (I can't yet) and make their own planks.

But it seems a waste to make a construction bot. It has no real life financial gain. It's one of the only bots built for ingame play. I pity the high levels who own these bots, that they are that lazy on a virtual game.

Not to mention it gives lvl 3's a bad name.

Stupid people, and there stupid pointless bots. #-o

I posted it here, instead of the rants forum, because I want to discuss these 'weird' bots.

they aren't doing it for the planks... They are chinese farmers. They auto up there yew woodcutters to level 60 all by cutting oaks. they then cut the oak planks and sell for 500 ea. I dont know how many for 60 but look at it this way every 10k oak planks is 5m... 100k is 50m... and if they buy the oak logs for 200 ea? 200+150= 350 , 500-350= 150, 150 profit per plank and they can easily do 100k planks a day since they are botting and often use multiple accounts/ computers. In the end they sell it on a rs gold site or something like ebay.

CURRENT GOAL ON PURE "ICE SPELLS"

Why the hell would anyone buy from a macroer anyway?

You can tell if they are by see how they look.

Usually they have mass quantities of the item people are looking for so they can usually buy all they need from one person. A consumer doesn't care where the other person gets it from. Macroer's usually sell their items for alot lower since they didn't work for them.

bascially the people who use bots are usually the people who steal from the guys off the streets, they can't do things the normal (right) way they have to cheat. most people do things the right way but those who dont are big (bad word in here~ daz) noobs who dont have a life.

Do u know what the Chain of Command is? it's the chain i'll go get and beat you with until you understand who is in command here

The "chinnese farmers" are true. But let's just not single out 1 race or group of people. I seen other names, german, american, and lots. They are all money farmers they use games as an advantage to there real life. Aka real life trading, macroing, all rules broken, they have so many accounts they don't care. As long as humans made Runescape, humans can hack it.

stop being racist, im part chinese, just say a farmer... no, say a CHEATER.

We aren't being racist. Most of the company bots are stationed in China or Taiwan. There are many people in those nations who farm gold in many MMORPGs and sell the money for real life money. They literally make millions of dollars.

millions? I doubt millions..I'm sure they can make a decent amount if they spend the time though.

With more than 100 million people worldwide logging on every month to play interactive computer games, gold and levelling companies are already generating revenues of $3.6 billion a year from subscriptions, according to DFC Intelligence, which tracks the computer gaming market.

On further review, that post seems kinda irrelevant, but google the subject. There are hundreds of sites, each with thousands of workers. They make a lot of money.

Nope, it's a legal enterprise, since most of those games allow gold and item trading. JaGex can't sue them because it is impossible to track which company is farming gold from just an IP address. Runescape is one of the few MMO's out there with a no-real item trading policy.

Kinda makes me think why they have this rule in place then? If people want to waste there money on it then why not let em?

Because Jagex does not have the stable economy other games enjoy. Games like Guild Wars, UO, Lineage and Everquest have economies highly regulated by measures put in place by thier creators.

JaGex chose to let Runescape players develop the economy. What if they enacted real-world item trading? People would pay real life money for party hats, and the GP would stagnate!

It's all up to the economy, but RS can't handle it. That is why they don't allow real-world item trading.

I would Hope one day Jagex actually Get the Balls to IP Bann People instead of Just Banning one account My Solution IP Bann= Screwed For Life

Then you obviously know nothing about IP Adresses's they can be changed or masked put through a proxy, they could however say ban the whole of China, but that wouldnt exactly sort it or be a politically sound idea.
