This question can be answered by first finding out how many EXISTED in beginning... Probably start a post on official RS forums, so that people tell how many santas they have, and then organise and calcualte? :D:D

No, the old Holiday items (Christmas Crackers, Party Hats, Santas, Masks, Easter Egg, Pumpkin, etc.) cannot be reobtained if you lose them. That's because they're tradeable unlike the newer ones.

Yes this has been done before, on tipit if I'm correct. I believe 3 Hit U did a count of Party Hats, and maybe other rares. I'm also pretty sure he concluded that one or two losses from dying or alching, and even accounts being banned with a set or two (phat) won't affect the price by much because there are still so many.

I'd contemplate suicide.. but that's just me.

Ehm... first of all... WHAT WERE YOU DOING with a Santa when alching? Keep on bank those items before the alch, for your safety and your closest people, Oh my god... :shame:

when santas came out it was around the same time other rares were raising, and seeing that they could have a future everybody got hundreds and hoarded them. I think they are by far the most popular rare, and any talk about them going extinct any time soon is BS.

you get 64gp for low alch I think (low alch is same as general store price), so its 96 for high alch.

Just do exactly the same as you would have done with it, work on skills, kill things etc. A santa hat isn't particularly crucial to gameplay, just get over it and carry on. You can't get it back.
