1. You'll find a lot of us in this section of the forums have been retired of Runescape for quite some time...

2. You have to give people more time to post. Most of us don't troll these boards 24/7 and post as often as possible.

As far as MMORPGs.. I've played:

Runescape

Shadowbane

Lineage II

EverQuest II

along with numerous others not worth mentioning..

So far my favorite has been Shadowbane due to the friends I made and fun I had with them (no matter how wasted they were). As of now I'm playing:

No video games. Basically I'm living life to its fullest for a while.

As Devilsdragon showed there are quite a few topics about this. Please use one of those so we can keep the discussions contained to just a few topics.

EDIT: After speaking to the author I'm unlocking this topic and he'll clarify the intent of this topic in the first post.

I've played:

RuneScape (have a level 123, 80 something, noobs)

Guild Wars (quit after level 10, game was horrific)

World of Warcraft (level 60 warrior, druid)

World of Warcraft was the best game I've probably ever played. Very enjoyable. They deserve every penny of their money.

RuneScape was fun until RS2.

Guild Wars was an absolute train-wreck of crap.

The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past.

Lets see here:

Runescape: Lvl... 89 or something. I don't know, was so long ago.

Everquest II: Lvl 41 Wizard. Hate that game so much.

Lineage II: On retail I had a 51 Spellhowler. Grind for money is horrible though.

Guild Wars: Numerous lvl 20's. The first was a good game, but plauged by a bad community mostly made up of guys who can not PvP. To get into the good stuff (PvP) you need to have at least rank 3, and the only way to get rank up is to win PvP matches. Hard to get into a good guild :/. (even if you are one of the better PvP'ers out there)

Silkroad Online: Got up to like lvl 23. Not a bad game for a Korean grindfest free game, but that's about all it was.

Hero Online: got up to lvl 10  . Has some fun hack 'n slash in it, just another grind fest though really.

Saga of Ryzom: A joke. I didn't play for long, but the game is just... well, way too carebear. I'm fine with a good roleplaying comunity, but my friend nearly got banned from it for calling someone an "idiot" (exact word, the guy ended up training him.)

Ultima Online (free shards): It's a great game... 5 years ago. Sadly, as much as I wanted to get into it now I couldn't. However, I hear graphics are going to get upgraded next year (woot).

Anarchy Online: The current game i'm playing. My top guy is a lvl 81 keeper, followed by a lvl 50 Fixer. Great game to tell the truth. It's a little older, but one of the few MMO's out there that takes a brain to play. I.E you can't just run around and smack stuff with a large stick and expect to be good. The fact is, if you can figure out how to do something it can give you a large advantage. For example, twinking. Figuring out how to get into items with a high stat req. (through buffing, implants, and even implant stacking [putting on some implants in order to put on others, ect. ect.]) Basicly said, the game can get complex, and I love it.

EVE Online: There are no "levels" in the game, but I managed to get into a destroyer both times I tried it. However, after I did that I got imensly tired of what the games "content" had to offer. I ended up quiting both times.

Other than that I can't really think of anything else... if you really want to search I have an MMORPG review thread burried within these forums somewhere.

MMORPG's ive played:

-Runescape

-Illutia (horrible graphics, good community, kind of fun game)

-Eternal Lands (Too confusing, just hard to find places)

-Rsbattle (Text based copy of runescape)

-Gates of Survival (Pretty much same as rsbattle)

-Some other ones I cant remember... I would like to try some mentioned here though!

My favorite:

I dont know, I have pretty much quit every single one so far X-D. Making my own game right now (http://excibius.com -- requires a browser other than IE)

-Runescape. Level 108. Quit 2002.

-Diablo 2. Level 99. Quit 2001-2002.

-Lineage II. Level 75. Quit an undetermined time ago as I still log in a shared account about once a month

-World of Warcraft, level 60. Quit last year.

-MU Online, level 173. Quit 2004

-Lots of other games, but I quit playing ages ago (most recently I quit WoW, in 2005). However I'd say WoW was the most diverse one and most enjoyable, leveling wise MU Online was the most fun as there are tons of special attacks, good party system, and at least when I played it, it was 100% free with awesome graphics.

runescape and scape rune

Please don't post spam here. I'm pretty sure he knows about runescape because this site is mainly about it...

Anyways,

Runescape

Maplestory

Ragnarok(wrong spelling I think)

Gunbound

Guild Wars (It's pretty bad, played a few weeks then quit.)

DarkEden(This game sucks, never updated and you can get player killed, even in towns. This is the worst game ever. Add in hacks and the point that you can't gain more than the first few levels safely, this game should be wiped off the face of the earth.)

Diablo II(Great game, except it gets boring because of all the items and the oh-so-little bank space. And the fact that I suck in nightmare and hell mode that I can't beat it by myself or with 1-2 other friends.)

I think that's about it. Not sure what my most favorite is...

What other MMORPG's do you play?

  • *
Runescape - Not very often though.

* Thang Online - Combat is so slow for a magician starting out, but nice graphics.

* Supreme Destiny - Good graphics, very easy to level and very much like Diablo.

* Maplestory - Chibi, 2D graphics. Repetitive gameplay, but a nice community.

* O2 Jam - 3D, lobby based music MMO. Unlike any other MMO i've played. Great community, fun and easy to get hold of game with some really nice songs.

What's your Favorite MMORPG?

Probably O2 Jam. Just due to it's uniquity. Takes little time to play, ideal for quick breaks. Main problem with it is due to the fact you need to manually download extra songs.

I've played WOW (World of Warcraft), it became too expensive. I play RuneScape (Going on 3 yrs!), and Starcraft. I prefer RuneScape because it's cheap, really fun, and it can be free. WOW would be second because of the graphics, but it is too expensive, and then Starcraft.

Hmm, would Neopets be considered an MMORPG? I think it might not because I don't consider it an RPG. Anyone know? Because if it is, then my list would be:

1. RuneScape

2. Neopets

3. WOW

4. Starcraft

I <3 Gears of War 2.

Add me on Xbox Live and mention you are from Tif :D
