Why all the topics on a "sport" that consists of driving around in circles at high speeds?

It isn't exciting unless they crash. Then it's awesome. But they don't very much, thus the lame factor.

The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past.

Racing = real "sport"

everything else is just a game...

anyone can go out and play football, basketball, soccer, ect...

One forumla 1 race is the equivalent of running a marathon

-they also race in high heat, which surpasses 120+ degrees F. in the cockpit at times. wearing full kevlar body suits.

-Racers can loose 10+lbs in just one race.

i'd like to see someone here try and name a "sport" that requires that much stamina, and endurance....

I can think of many.

There is nothing in the world that will enduce a mighty yawn for me more than NASCAR.

...Except maybe NASCAR fans. Hahahaha. Priceless.

Adventure racing... especially the ones where they have to race for over 24 hours....

Exactly...

I agree that nascar is boring, but races such as Formula 1 / Indy, Le'mans, and even MotoGP races are fun to watch.

1 thing, youre forgetting the 2 road races that NASCAR does each year: Sonoma, and Watkins Glen.

Anyways, yes, NASCAR can be boring.

I think the short tracks are fun, though.

\' i finaly found an interesting topic and i dont think anyone here could do what they do every week. Unless they do do it every week..... The stress they must endure for 3-4 hours is immense. driveing at speeds near 200 mph, inches away from a wall on one side and another car on the other. Any small mistake could be potentialy fatal. or at the very least ruin your chances and posibly someone elses chances at finishing the race.

Nascar is really boring (to me). Though every time I see someone watching it, I'm reminded of a comedian I saw on Comedy Central once. He had a bunch of jokes about how Nascar fans love the sport because it's easy to follow when you're wasted.

That's why the big audiences started watching racing in the first place. 50+ years ago there was no such thing as "safety" in F1 cars for example, and many drivers died. They really risked their lives to earn big money.

"Racing is boring"

"I only like it when they crash"

"They just drive around in circles"

"NASCAR fans are stupid inbred hicks"

"Racing is a skill"

"Racing takes a lot of endurance"

"It is a lot harder than other sports"

"They put their life on the line every race"

Ok, I covered both sides. No need to say any of those things again. If you don't like racing, why the hell are you reading this topic? If you have nothing to say about the topic, then all you are doing is spamming. STFU, GTFO, and DIAF.

Back when I used to watch racing, Jeff Gordon was my favourite NASCAR driver. I remember whenever there was a road course, you could plan on him winning it. He won like 9 in a row or something. I haven't watched any races since this new point system was created, but I know the basics of how it works. Since JG is in the top 10, he can't go any lower, right? I guess that's good for him this time, I could see how it would be bad though.

I just watched the F1 finale, it was pretty exciting. Congrats to Massa for the win and Alonso for the champ (and good luck at Ferrari next year).

Good-bye Schumi =D>

the russians are the best! Hands down!

Im sitting here at my computer watching the NASCAR race.

Quite interesting actually.

Martinsville is a half mile track, quite small for NASCAR, especially with 43 cars on the track.

Jeff Gordon is my favorite driver, I chose him when I was young, because his car was colorful.

This race is really going to mess up the points.

Next time I post, the race will be over.

Until then, happy (insert whatever you do here),
