D. V. Devnull
Hello everyone, I think I finally figured out an idea that would stop most all autoing in the mining guild. Here it is: ADD a minimum combat requirement, but a hidden one. Place a bunch of "Highwaymen (Level 5)" down in the Mining Guild, so that if any Sub-"Level 11 Combat" autoers dared to try to come down there, they would die very fast. About 85% (my guess) if not more of all mining autoers are Sub-"Level 11 Combat", so if you place something in the way, you basically stop all of them. 8-) MORE COAL AND MITHRIL TO THE LEGITIMATE PLAYERS OF RUNESCAPE!!! ~Mr. D. scruff636b
hmm, but lets just say I own a mining pure, lvl3, full iron (or something), enough mining to mine mithril/coal fast i wonder in, the day after the update is added, but forget to read the article fully/do not know (i decided to place my pc on standby, and thus just gone back onto the world select screen) i log in, right at the heart of where the highwaymen, then get killed i lose inventory of ores perhaps there should be something that moves everyone who logs out in the mines to the dwarf area. there they would be told that some highwaymen have taken over some of the caverns or something, and you could be killed then given a yes or no choice

ThurinEthir
Old. And the same reason has been said every time, it would kill skillers. For mining skillers, their goal is the mining guild, so they can mine coal without getting annoyed by scorpions. The only way to stop autoers is to report them, and to make randoms more frequent. NintendFan
It really doesn't work, namely because Highwaymen don't belong in a Dwarven mine. This would lead to people wanting the Highwaymen behind Varrock Castle, at the Draynor Willows, etc. It just doesn't work. Maybe Scorpions though... <_< >_> My Runescape username is Nintend Fan.^Happened right after I killed a guy in the wil
Evil_Sabre
autoers would simply train combat before switching over to mining, very easy to bypass

ThurinEthir
Ah yes...The possibility of asking a question...What about the honest miners? If they had to answer a question every time they wanted to leave/enter the guild, they wouldn't be able to mine efficiently anymore. I guess eliminating autoers from the mining guild is better than this, although the yew autoers are a bigger problem. Bufoman
highway men donot belong in the mineing guild. however i would sugest more rock golums and swarm attacks their. I can mine for hours on end and never get them surely these hurt macros. mostly I would recomend targeting those under level 20 combat with alot more randome events in the entire game and makeing the evil chicken alot more powerfull as i have seen macros ignore him and they survived for miniutes. i also support the removel of under 10 combat and 100 total skills after 6 months to stop some of the lucky macros and remove people who nolonger play and keep names ectra. mario_sunny
Victor's idea owns... the autoers would just find a way past the highway men. It's not that hard to get to level eleven eithre. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( . hyperbabe701
it wouldn't work the autoers would figure it out after awhile and just raise the combat lvl a couple lvls higher to like lvl 20. *cough cough* They can't charge me for breaking into my own house *cough cough*

Abyssalwhip
or they could just add those things that came up when fatigue was out when you slept(the 6 letters and #s you gata type in to make account on most sites) every time you go in a guild seem easier? D. V. Devnull
Or remove hole mining guild. Do you REALLY want every last legitimate player to QUIT playing RuneScape??? YOU'RE TOTALLY OUT OF YOUR MIND!!! or they could just add those things that came up when fatigue was out when you slept(the 6 letters and #s you gata type in to make account on most sites) every time you go in a guild seem easier? Hmm, this might work, at least for a few months anyway. :-k ~Mr. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... m4tty
most "skillers" are macroers anyway, and maybe it should be just like that in f2p, theres hardly any macros in p2p, and itd make the more obsessed with the game macros buy p2p = more money for good updates to come out. or even make the mining guild p2p only so the only place f2p can mine coal is in the skele mines in the wild. If you only have to enter it once per log in, that's the best autoer solution I've heard. Barely affects regular players, kills autoers, unless they get lucky at get the PIN on the first few tries. Nenga
this won't work, what jagex needs a rs firewall that gets those programs, that runs a quick search of your computer when you open something while on rs, this will cause hardly any lag (from the scan) and stop most autoers. NO WAY THAT WILL HAPPEN!!! I and my parents won't allow spyware and/or malware from Jagex, period!!! This PC belongs to me and my parents, NOT Jagex. I'm sure many of the good people on these forums will agree with me that Jagex HAS NO SAY IN WHAT WE DO WITH OUR PC's, PERIOD!!! 'Nuff said. D. V. Devnull
It's only an idea on what could stop autoers, it's not like their actuly gonna do it. Alright. BTW, most antivirus programs would flag activity from a java app similar to this as viral activity, so I am sure Jagex would not get far with the idea. Doing something like this right would also force Jagex to leave the Web Games industry, which would ruin their user base. Sorry to have to be the "8-ball" that shot the idea down so hard. I guess in some odd way, you could call me a "privacy freak". :? ~Mr. D. V. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people...
