I'm a freshman. I'm susposed to have fun, hang out with friends, party etc. Sure, you say "only 4 years until college" whatever I've always been a last minute guy. When I turn 15 I'm getting a job anyways, but grades don't effect me much.

Anyway I just wanna keep skating (I skateboard) to see if I can make a career out of it. I started skating a bit late, but I've progressed fairly good for the ammount I've been skating. So I hope to get sponsered. Skating is what I love so thats what I want to do. I don't need an "education" to get where I want to go.

I know plenty of kids at my school who have fun, go to parties and also get their school work done.

Doing School work doesnt mean NO fun at all.

Good luck with your skating career BTW.

I'ma go with my natural instinct and think that skating career thing was sarcasm, but ty. It probally wont happen, something I'd love to shoot for though.

Anyway I'm not dumb, I just don't do homework. I'd rather do other things.

88% in Algebra (I'm a grade ahead)

Rest is A's.

Supermonk, proving you wrong since 1992.

Supermonk rocks, I want to have his children.

Music is like candy. You always get rid of the rapper.

I get F's.

Why? I don't give a damn. I do whats fun in life, you only have 1 chance to live. Although I might have to step it up and get D's (aka doing homework) so I don't bloody fail 9th grade.

Your freshman year isn't a good year to slack.. You don't want to be one of those sophomores that's stuck in freshy classes.

Then who says you're supposed to have fun, hang out with friends, party etc? I don't see a law that says you have to do that.

The question is, who decides what you're supposed to do? Answer? You may think it's you, but you'll find out in a couple years that if you try and fight society and do whatever you want to do, you're going to get bit. Hard.

Yeah, yatm (<-I'm calling you yatm from now on) you'll soon find out that a relaxed view on life can be good, but if you let it go too far you'll end up in a rut. Maybe things will fall in place for you, but don't count on it. Really, get your grades up. It's not that difficult. I don't hardly try in school and I get C's and B's. I spend a half an hour each night on homework unless I feel a conversation I'm having with a friend is more important (deep conversations ftw). I mostly pay attention to my gf when I have class with her. I spend way too much time day dreaming and doodling on papers. And I manage to keep decent grades. I know how you feel though, just a few more years and you can do whatever the hell you want with your life. But for now, you should put at least a little effort into school. Get your grades up to a little better than passing (not D's, mid C's). It's really not hard to maintain a C, and you can pretty much half a* your homework. But hey, if you'd rather slack off all year then you'll be the one spending your sophomore year surrounded by freshies. I took a class with a bunch of freshies.. Not much fun. Trust me.

Sorry to lecture you about that, but you seem to need some guidance in your life.

i respect your decision and everything, but think of it this way: work hard four years and enjoy the rest of your life, or, enjoy four years and work hard the rest of your life

of course, i don't know what you plan on doing, so i'm not going to make any judgments, but its something to keep in mind

4.0 all through high school. So far at the university I have all A's except a B in Applied Calculus. It's going to be rough getting that first B at the end of the semester and seeing my GPA drop down to an abysmal 3.69. College is a slap in the face :P

yes...it sure is lol

where did you end up going Punkie? with a 3.7 GPA you could get a job offer from any1 lol..you got nothing to worry about

i have a 2.6 atm...pretty avg. GPA for a freshmen who figured it wuldn't be much harder than HS..i can pull a 3.0 b4 the semester is over tho

i dunno how im struggling to get a B in chemistry when it's the same material as in high school

i have a C in calc b/c of my TA..she's horrible and her grading is horrible. i make same mistakes as my roomate and he gets minus 1 on his test but i get minus 5...bleh

i need to play catch up next semester :-w

I get F's.

Although I agree with your way of living, sadly, you have to think about your future. Unless your parents are very rich, you won't be able to support yourself, neither will your parents. You won't go into college, you won't get a good job, and you'll be poor. I don't think it will be so fun then.

I ended up going to the University of Arizona :) Loving it so far, just not used to the grading and professors yet really :P I'm not worried about the B to tell you the truth, it's just eerie at first but I've come to accept it haha. And it's my first semester anyway, so it definitely won't stay a 3.7

I hope Virgina Tech is treating you well..err, well, at least better next semester :D

hehe thankies. yeah it's treating me pretty well. i love the people and the atmoshere. i like all of my professors...and most of my TA's...but my calc teacher can...ugh. put it this way..i have been sick with mono for 2 weeks and missed a quiz b/c of it. i had a doctor's note and she would not let me take it.. :wall: so i had to receive a 0. i get all my answers right on the tests...but proving answers is like 90% of the work.. she is just a B lol. i need a 90 on the final and an 80 on my next test for a B in there..dunno if i can pull it off

youre majoring in what? im majoring in aeronautical engineering atm...but i got my work cut out for me as that's the 2nd hardest major at VT (so i hear)

I see 2 paths in your future:

1) You're working your --- off to pay off the bills.

2) You have no bills since you're homeless.

Back to me, I get Bs and As. Last report card I got all Bs, so I better step up. :XD:

Hmm. Since when do people need an education to get jobs eh? You don't know what job I want do you? You don't know what I want to do. I gave you my aspect of life, you don't have to come say I'm going to be homeless and etc and deliberately try to put me down?

To deloria - My name is "yatm" Call me sam.

To everyone else - Sure having an education helps, and I know my parents wont help me forever. My parents aren't rich. They are wealthy. Now that my mom is working to my parents have decided to pay for me, my brother and sister's education (most of it at least). So I still plan to go to college, and as I said I'm getting a job soon when I turn 15. I'd rather do other things while I still have the chance before having to break down and actually start trying in school.

without knowing people even though you have money to pay tuition..a college does not want their rank to go down b/c of grades you received in high school...all F's? you won't even graduate High school

I don't get all F"s. Just in a few classes. I'm not going to fail the year, taking as this is only the 2nd semester? Fools.

calling us fools with your attitude on grades is very ironic. sure you have more semesters to pull it up...but an F counts as a 0...and you need certain courses to graduate = summer school to make it all up which = less of that fun you talk about

My report card looks like this (just got it):

Geometry: A

English: A

World History: A

Science: A

P.E: A

Arabic 5: B-

Religion: B+

and then...Art: C. I'm in ninth grade, and I know that this thing will hurt me. Fortunately, first quarter grades dont matter that much because they are averaged out with your second quarter and mid-terms (semester grade, basically). I seriously need to step it up...and get drawing.

...

Lol buddy, I still got time to pull them up. An f doesn't count as a 0..I live in america..Where do you live? What do you mean 0.

This is dumb I'm done argueing about this. I do what I please mmk? I don't need people I don't know on the internet to lecture me about the way I live my life.
