nice finds. I'd always thought that veracs came from the gladiator armours.

if you watch the movie Gladiator, when he is in the pits there is a character who is wearing a brassard and has a flail and looked alot like verac.. but it was only like a 5 second clip..

Most armour looks like runescape armour. If it was so different from armours from history then you wouldn't really know what it was.

The gladiator would turn into the enemy so that all the enemy could see would be armour. This game freedom of movement to the other arm meaning quicker attacks or to throw a net.

If you count gladiatorial rome as medival. Runescape adheres to no particular time period - you must remember it is first and foremost a fantasy game, not a Medival game. Just look at the new quest - Ballons were invented by Montgolfier in France in the 1700's (I think, I may be wrong, but it was sure as hell was after 1485)
