welephant
And then you get pushed back down. A few months ago, I lost full guthan to killerwatts. So I worked and ground to get it back, and finally earlier I got enoguh cash to get it back. Then, I lagged and died at barrows. Unfortunately, the guy that picked it all up was unwilling to return any of it. Fair enough, that's his perogative. I explained my position, he played loads of stupid mind games and then at the end said he wouldn't be returning my stuff. Ah well, back to grinding to try and make some cash. #-o So, I pose to you, what really has happened to this community, an all out no would have sufficed, but it was the mind games that rubbed it in. 1withdragons
People are stupid and arrogant; don't let it hurt you, just make more money, and don't repeat your mistakes. Oh yea... Verac > guthan 7 months ago, shoulen m0nk lured me for everything. If you know anything about him, pm me.lol that was a good story but his eyesight must be poor... it's a well known fact that mods only drop garages on players.
welephant
Cheers dragon. I expected a flamefest from the off, and I'll probably receive one soonish. Probably have a little break first, just to have a break. I needed one soon anyway.

Freshwacka
If you don't want to lose your items, don't die. That guy had every right to take your stuff. I'd have returned it, but you can't moan and call him a noob or whatever because he has every right to take it. 99 Crafting Blog
ecopetition
Remember that runescape is only a game and that if someone finds loot they don't need to give it back. The same applies to arrows - if they appear on the ground they are anyones to take. Seminiferous Tubule.
welephant
In response to fresh, I never said a bad word against him, just that he played stupid mind games. I am well aware it's a game, I probably wrote this a little heavily because I was still annoyed at the time, I didn't mean it to sound so serious and heavy handed. I hoped (probably stupidly) that this may inspire some sort of classic memory lane, ah well.

darkmage099
I hate when people play mind games. I would rather just have them block me and have it over with. A loooong time ago when Verac's was over 6.5m, I lost my helm at KQ. I was with my partner and my partner's friend. My partner's friend picked it up and kept it (the KQ responded unexpectedly). HE didn't play a lot of mind games but enough to get me frustrated. I eventually blocked him and my partner never spoke with him again. This is where I got a bit of revenge: I was not so rich when this happened. Maybe I had a net worth of around...10m? That is including my rune armor and every single last rune. I barrowed and half-merchanted my way back up to about 20m and bought a Santa hat. A couple of more months later I eventually barrowed and half-merchanted some more to get myself a red mask. Now get this: I decided to quit (Yes, I don't play anymore). The funny thing is he had me added on AIM. So he IMed me one day gloating about his helm. When he heard I had a red mask and was quitting, he went berserk. He begged for DAYS to have it. Naturally, I played mind games with him for about a week knowing he would never get it. I still have the mask and every month or so he IMs me asking if I still have the mask or not. Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar! lagatag
I don't believe you should be condescending towards him just because he won't give you back the items you lost. Jagex has it set so you lose items for a reason... I don't know where you have played, but for the past 5 years I've known runescape its been finders keepers. I understand what its like to lose something you worked so hard for, but its hypocritical to complain about him keeping your items when their just pixels, since you're whining about wanting them back... Way to read. We are not complaining about the items we lost. We are complaining about the mind games the item finders play. Good job again on your reading comprehension skills. Rebdragon
You want mindgames of item thieves? Well that's a coincidence, I just had a conversation yesterday with the guy who stole my Spear at Leesters Dag King First Timers event. Keep in mind this guy was my student- I was the vet teaching him the ins and outs of how to mage Rex. Meh, he's no idiot little kid, but he's definitely immature as heck. muggiwhplar
When you die to a monster, your items should be erased from the game. When you die to a monster, nobody deserves your items. Nice rant about the topic: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=558117 I dunno if it is fair to say that you should get the chance to go grab your items after death, since you were irresponsible/careless/unskilled enough to die in the first place. Actually, in my case I was forced to log off in the southeast corner because my parents had to install Roadrunner on the comp I was using. Anyways, I rushed up to my laptop and logged in asap, and after having been gone only a minute, I came back to chaos. Before I could even click Prime and Rex, double teaming me (somehow the noobs I was teaching brought Prime over AND messed up the Rex safespot at the same time) and I was killed by them near instantaneously. Meh, he had enough time to take my Spear, but due to panicing he was forced to tele and my other stuff was saved. So, I'm glad that my items didn't disappear, even if he was able to steal the most valuable one -.- . I have to admit though, if items didn't appear when you died DK luring would be history, and that'd be great since nearly 95% (estimation) of DK [vet] deaths are due to lurers. BDave
To Rebdragon: most people go with people they trust to the Draggs as evan if you are all vets slip-ups can happen and people can die. You should have made it clear that you wouldn't go unless you agree on give-backs and how you share drops. In reality most people have a limit to what they would give back depending on how much they have in their bank and how much they can make. It's all relative, I'm guessing you you must have at least 40m+ networth. If someone died with a blue phat, you know you would be setup for life in rs, so does greed take over friendship? It is simply how much would it take for this to happen and unfortunatly nearly everybody (well everybody obsessed with the game) has these. Deckdude15
Reb, IMO that guy deserved your spear. You presented no intelligent argument that you could back up, and life isn't like RuneScape. You also spoke down to him. Lame. You don't have the right to have your spear returned to you. Quit whining.

But if everyone was strict about the rule who would teach at Lee's event :P ? I was a bit careless in trusting my students, probably because I hadn't actually died at the Kings prior to the event, and I payed the price. It wasn't the greatest experience, but I'm glad to have been able to have taught a few more people how to DK :) . Gota stick your neck out once and a while, right? :P Reb, IMO that guy deserved your spear. You presented no intelligent argument that you could back up, and life isn't like RuneScape. You also spoke down to him. Lame. You don't have the right to have your spear returned to you. Quit whining. Can you expound on that? I kinda see what you're saying, but I don't really get where your points are coming from. I don't really get how I didn't have an intelligient argument, I knew it was legally his and I knew that morally he should have returned it, but he had every right to keep it. What kind of "intelligient argument", as you define them, could I have used? Deckdude15
By saying "intelligent argument," I had no intention of insulting your own intelligence, but there was just no sound argument. Maybe if you had supported your argument, or maybe acted a bit friendlier about it, the guy might have responded more positively. Look - Like where you talk about dropping a 20 IRL. Real life has no relation to RuneScape, morals and honor don't belong on a game on the internet. You say he's not stealing from an npc, he's stealing from you. Beating a dead horse, but real life =/= RS. Your argument was okay until here, then it started to spiral downward. EDIT- Oh, from re-reading your last post I see where you're coming from now. I guess I just didn't see what you meant in your screenshot conversation thing.

Harvard Law School ftw ^_^ Okay, I see your point, but you kind of lost me in the bolded part. Why do you believe that? And though real life is not equivalent to Runescape, people are still interacting with people, so there definitely are some relations between them :-k . And lol, I wasn't offended in any way by your statement, I just couldn't see any way of making an argument other than one based on morals here. There was no way I could get my spear back from the moment he took it and ran, I just wanted to talk about the matter with him and see what was going on in his head when he "stole" it.
