Barrows theory

ok ive been barrowing for a long time and ive been doing tests...

I got my warspears and K skirt with not too many runs in between with just a kill count of 6

It took my a long time to get the hood and coif with a 21 kill count

the same thing with some friends too

summary:

Having a high kill count gets better runes\racks but a 6 count will increase barrow item odds

~ thanks for readin'

Unless you do thousands upon thousands of runs, it's hard to get a solid, accurate decision of which kill count gives better items. A lot of Barrows is is just luck of the draw. It's kind of like a beneficial game of Russian Roulette.

Kill count does not affect your odds of getting an item, other than killing all six brothers.

Then explain why 6 kill count gets small amounts of chaos death and mind while 20s gets bloods, racks and high amounts

My theory is everything is first of time based (Treasure trails too) and dependent on how many doors you open.

When I try to spawn a brother to a safe spot by opening 100s of doors, I haven't gotten a single item. But when I open 2 doors, the 2 to get into the chest room, i've gotten double items, and almost always get an item.

I just got 2 items in a row with 30 & 21 kill count, just because you happen to have gotten lucky means nothing. Give me proof because you did 5000 runs, then ill start to believe you

I'll make this simple:

You would need probably a hundred thousand runs to actually come close to proving any of this. 3 lucky Barrows items in a row doesn't constitute this rumor, let alone proven data.

Then explain why 6 kill count gets small amounts of chaos death and mind while 20s gets bloods, racks and high amounts

Like I said, a higher kill count increases your odds of getting better rune drops.

So, if you have a high kill count, you're more likely to get bloods and racks.

Low count will probably get you coins and mind runes.

What I meant is... better "type of rune" drops.

A barrow brother will drop on of the following:

Coins

300ish mind runes

180ish chaos runes

80ish death runes

40ish blood runes

40ish bolt racks.

And of course, Half key/Barrows Item/Drag med.

A high kill count improves your chances of getting a drop higher on the rune list.

Jagex have confirmed this theory:

The number of barrows brothers you kill increases the likelyhood of getting a barrows armour item.

The kill count increases the likelyhood of getting more (and better) non-barrows items. Killing barrows brothers does affect this, hence the kill count increasing as you kill the brothers.

but... just to make this clear, would have been nice if you answered at this one lee...

if you get a high kill count, does this then decrease your chance of getting an item? or is it the same, just that you get better runes together with it?

According to Jagex, the only thing that affectts the chances of getting a barrows item is the number of brothers you kill.

So, kill count in itself, other than the brothers, does not affect the chances of getting an item.

It should be general knowledge by now that a higher kill count increases the quality and quantity of runes you receive.

And it goes without saying that you kill every brother...

I like the irony (no wait, paradoxicality) in how there's a spelling error in this sig.
