What Are Random's Good For?

Featured Replies

I see lots of people complain about random events, saying they should be taken out, they waste time, ect, ect. But think about it...They do give gems and small amounts of coins, right? When I was a little newbie, just getting 640 gp was a fortune to me, and I bought full Iron with it  . And, without randoms, the amount of gems in Runescape would go down drastically, thus meaning that you'd have to kill monsters for each gem you need, and that would be fairly annoying to do. The prices of lower level gems would raise, even though there are a couple of stores that sell gems (in low quanties though). What do you think they are good for? These are all I can think of right now, I wonder what the rest of you Tip.iters can think of. ::'

You know that members can mine gems?

Randoms don't really impact gems... They were made to stop autoers...

IMHO, they should take randoms out and allow autoing

Losers...

Are you blind or ignoring me on purpose?

Even though I sometimes side with religious people in some debates, I no longer consider myself religious.

Yes, I fogot about that though. Anyways, this mainly to say what randoms are good for, seeing as all people seem to be able to do is complain about them (which is justified).

Teleporting randoms makes the monsters agressive when you return, which can be good or bad.

They can give you something to do.

Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)

The main reason is to stop auto-anything'ers, the items are just sugar coating to disguise it as a 'feature'. Macroing is much harder when random events happen (especially when those non-killable monsters spawn), hence it's a good idea.

Earlier in RSC, there was no macro protection at all. Then they switched to a 'sleeping bag' and 'fatigue' system which was horrible though, it was removed fast.

Hey fatigue makes more sense than a lady coming upto to you offering a sandwich and if you dont take it she knocks you out and drags your body to the top of a mountain.
Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that.....

I kinda like some randoms, it really breaks up the methodisism of a boring skill. Like mining, if I get a random, I'm happy. It takes away from clicking on something a million times in a row. I know there are times that I don't like them, and some randoms I don't like either. But overall, I think they help make the game more fun.

F2P'ers also will get gems mining, but on second thought maybe that counts as a random event in and of itself.

taking a break

Leo is good for *cough* (annoying people like me) banking a few items just to clear up some inven. space.

Mime is good for giving you cool clothing and emotes to make you look elite. (No 1337-speak here.)

Um, basically there's tons of others, but my fingers insist that I don't type a lot.

he means the shilo (And lunar) gem rocks which instead of coal, you get sapphires and such, not the randoum gems you get

its only good for getting rid of autoers, nothing else special but getting in other people's way

Actually, it is also good for giving a player the bump they need to get moving on something that would help skills they wouldn't normally train. This can sometimes mean the difference between small money and big money. :)

tifuserbar-dsavi_x4.jpg and normally with a cool mind.

(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people... And talks in 3rd person for the timebeing due to how insane they are... Sometimes even to themself.)

randoms are good for interrupting pking sessions to get you killed so the other player can get your stuff since its good for the "Economy" (A.K.A the 25 gp coming in every 2 seconds when a new 9 year old comes to ruin the game.

Randoms are good for annoying players that have rares to make them frustrated and quit the game because if they have rares they could ruin jagex's precious economy.

randoms are good for annoying people who don't know every single word of the english language e.g the sandwich lady, what the hell is a "Bagguete".

randoms are good for taking up tons of your time e.g evil bobs freakin island, minimum time = 8 minutes that i could have spent fishing.

randoms are good for coming out frequently and giving you terrible rewards e.g the mysterious old man, gives 20 gp, appears every 20 seconds.

randoms are good for hardly ever showing up when they have a good reward, e.g mime, good reward, shows up once every 6 months.

randoms are good for being there at the wrong time, e.g, killing a barrows and suddenly a drunken dwarf shows up "ello matey" and if you dont stop fighting the barrows and talk to him, the dwarf kills you, and if you talk to the dwarf the barrows dude will kill you or attack you wich stops you talking to him, wich leads to the dwarf killing you.

And thats what randoms are good for, THE END

wierdimage.jpg

Apparently I am 24 yrs old, live in Cali have a fertility problem with a guy name Ken.

Randoms are both good and bad.

Good: They gice you coins and gems, and nice costumes sometimes. When you are bored of doing all that skilling, a random might get you a bit happier. Randoms can also get you new emotes.

Bad: They take your time and make so it takes longer time for you to level. They can disturb you when you're doing something important.

Personally I want randoms.

1. Today evil bob took 1-2 minutes

Killing autoers (if you cover up the random event, they usually don't see it and either die or get teleported ::' )

Teleportation Matrix = Free Rune Essence = I'm happy

Randoms also help stop autoers, even though they apparently dont help against all the lvl 3s in Lumby filling the gen. store up with stuff.

The high school in the town I live in is now removing algebra and calculus, too. Pretty pathetic.
