my suggestion is to make begging a reportable offence, yes thats right, make begging against the rules of the game.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I believe its not in the spirit of the game to pester others for 'phr33 st00f pl0x' etc as it is incredibly annoying for those on the recieving end.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The more people get away with it, the more everyone will think its ok, but if it were against the rules, it would virtually be eradicated as the problem would likely recede over time.

Jagex have made it quite clear they wont be adopting this rule, although we'd love to get those homeless off the streets and into a nice prison somewhere far far away on 'Here Be Penguins' island.

Why should you be able to report them if they did absolutely nothing to you?? he never uses any profanity, so why should you be able to report him?? If you don't like it turn public chat off....

Like Inferno said, we penguins are quite good at being cops and jail guards. We won't let those beggars loose. Although it IS quite annoying, you should be able to ignore it. They'll learn sooner or later that begging is pointless, and give up. Or you can tell them that and get called "noob". Nonetheless, this is not needed, and would become over-abused.

Although begging is frowned upon in the game, it's not really breaking any rules. There are so many newbies that ask for free stuff especially in f2p, that the staff that look at reports will be overwhelmed.

Learn to right-click -> Ignore. :wink:

They should have a right to say beg as a level 7 on a free world, but the other day i saw a level 121 wiht full d saying "phr33 st0ph pl0x". I mean, if u se that it should be a reportable. the level 50 in full rune saying "help i got haxx0red" should be rpeortable.

Yeah...If they're saying "Phr33 st00f pl0x", then I doubt they're being serious. If they're saying "can i have free stuf", then they are. During the TET Freak Train in May or something, I got together a bunch of us and we all stood in Lumby center saying "Phr33 st0ff pl0x". Do you think we were being serious?

I agree that beggars are incredibly annoying, but don't you think being able to report them would be a bit...drastic? Just try to ignore them, after all, they're the ones wasting their time begging when they could be doing something constructive to get money. I almost pity them. Almost.

Back on-topic. This has a making of a good idea, but if somebody said "500gp for your shield please", some people would take this as begging and report them unfairly. If beggars really annoy you, either add them to your ignore list or put your chat on friends.

I'm glad that they didn't imply that rule yet. (even though I know they won't) I just asked for 1 mage log from some guys that were wcing because i needed for dt.
