f2p in poh???(previously f2p apartments)

Featured Replies

I support. I think that it should be that not only can you invite friends over to your poh, but if you made one in members and you become non-members, then you can still come back to your house, just not renovate it. But, I think a few restrictions should be on it. I'm thinking it should be that you can't use the altar, the dungeon, make tablets, or gain exp from the fight room in f2p worlds.

It is impossible to exaggerate the unimportance of almost everything.

Do NOT turn this into an argument over f2p bank space, it has absolutely nothing to do with the authors intention for his suggestion.

Yes. The second the F2P'ers see the amazingness of POH. They will want to buy P2P status. I know this because, the only reason I bought P2P was I saw amazing screenshots and guides on Castle Wars and etc.

the POH in f2p is only got members its a good idea and it can be like ainchents book if u a member in f2p u will have it but if ur membership ends u cant use it any more and it would be back to normal in this case u coundt acesses ur own house

but what about the people with dungeons? they could possibly have p2p monsters down there and what would be the fun of having friends in your poh if you cant watch a steel dragon own them.

Maybe you can use the stuff, like the boxing/fight ring, but only a certain number of times a day??? That would also add to the want for members if they saw it, because they would want to do some stuff a lot more, like say they like the boxing/fight ring (I'm sticking with what I mentioned earlier as an example), but they don't like only being able to fight twice, or howerver many times it is, they'd want to use it all the time. There'd have to be limits to this of course, like they couldn't do certain things, or if there was something member-skill related they could try it, but they wouldn't get any XP. Let me know on this, help me improve it, because I want to get it right before I add anything. :)

though a retired VET i must say, i would agree this could bring a large amount of players to runescape and also membership, they might see it as "wow i should be a member than i can have my own house and parties" plus it gives your friends a good experiance as the topic starters instance how hes not allowed to pay, i understand that so he too may enjoy time with friends, clans and whatnot. but of course there would have to be some restrictions to items within the house eg: some portals, amulet of glory on wall, throne and poisonus dungoen things. good it the monsters were full of skele guards and lesser demons, bus as said, might need some restrictions. and to those questioning about the "go pay 5$ and we pay yatta yatta" he has a freedom of speech and suggestions so i say cut the childish act and let him do as he pleases. =D>

This is kind of like wearing/wielding members' items on free-to-play. They do the wielding on P2P, then come to F2P to stand in Varrock and act like a jerk. lol

Anyways, I can see the reasoning. Members could show off their RS homes to their friends on free servers. However, Jagex won't do it because it would be an update for F2P, and they wanna keep F2P one big hellhole so you would wanna pay $5-6 for a monthly subscription.

What's the point of having members if P2P get all the updates anyway?

If you don't pay, don't expect anything in return.

1. its f2p you meant to say, not p2p

2. Who ever said anything about giving all the updates to f2p??

3. Why would someone say that

4. On this Idea, there are limits

5. How many times have I had to hear the "you don't pay, you don't get anything", thats been refuted numerous times, because f2p do pay something, indirectly, through ads

:-s Um....this update is more for members than f2pers. Although both will benefit from it.

Don't just read "f2p" out of a thread and make a premature judgement. How about next time actually read the idea itself before you comment on it. Good idea, yes?

edit:  just now noticed your typo.

Not cleaning this thread off , if the arguement continues this will be LOCKED. Be nice and have a discussion instead of a flame war.

Please don't lock this thread, the idea is very good. I support. Now I want to explain, and add some ideas.

As someone already said, this update would be good for both F2P and P2P. There's no reason to say that f2p don't pay so they can't get updates. This update would give P2P a chance to show their houses to their F2P friends. There are a couple of problems here though.

A new portal would have to be made, which would indeed be a big update, but not that big of a problem. The bigger problem are the stuff members have such as portals, dungeons, gilded altar, and stuff like that. However the solution to that is very simple. You'll notice that there are a couple member things and places in f2p, such as the Lumbridge swamp dungeon, or the skull that can be found behind the Draynor Manor. The skull is called Members Item. If you try to enter a member place in F2P you get a message: You have to be on members world to do that. Therefore, if someone tried to use the gilded altar on a F2p World, they'd get that message. That would simply make the POH houses on F2P worlds viewable but not usable. Just like members armor. You see it, you wield it, but it give no bonus, no protection. POH F2P views would simply be like a members advertising campaign. You could walk around it, and you could just admire the view.

If someone can give me a valid reason why this would be a bad idea, I would be glad to prove them wrong, without arguing.

Also, if you feel like F2P don't deserve updates cause they don't pay, at least try to say that in a nice way.

That whole "F2P should get updates because they pay through ads" argument is pants. Why would anyone have to pay then? Why do members pay $5 a month when Jagex could make the money from having them view ads?

Just noticed, nice 1-month bump Tetsuya.

1. This isn't for monthly updates, der, plus the argument is that f2p could get 1-2 updates a year... not an update every week...get over yourself

1-2 updates a year is more than F2P is already paying for.

Neither of you got the point of my post, anyway, and made no attempt at an intelligent argument.
