They're not suppoust to be uber realistic looking. :-s I do agree with you on the last part. While anime has gotten me interested in Japan I don't claim to be a huge guru of Japanese cluture. As for my favorite anime: Excel Saga, Bleach, Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, FLCL, Tsubasa, and a few others. I haven't really had time to watch much more. Even though it's an incredibly uncreative and unoriginal artstyle, you can't really criticise anime because it makes people look weird, all cartoons do that. Many artists have different styles. Try differentiating the styles between Akira Toriyama, Tite Kudo, Masashi Kishimoto, and Eiichiro Oda. They're very different. Yes, it's old (1996?) and I've only watched it in Japanese with poor English subtitles, but it's fantastic. It became the inspiration for my weird RS name - Suzaku no Miko => Suzaku's Miko => Suzaku Smiko. Next up: Cowboy Bebop. Then Samurai Champloo. Gotta love Mugen. (south park) shows animated in Korea? (Simpsons, Family Guy). Its all animation to me, and I personally love animation, but I also depend on a good plot. so, on the topic of anime... Hellsing, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Serial Experiments Lain. plus, all of these series' have an art style that looks little alike. unless you think that this and this look exactly the same. saying all anime is the same is like saying south park is the same as spongebob. FunnyGiant Posted January 24, 2007 Share Posted January 24, 2007 some latest anime series are pretty weird... like naruto, kiba, bleach and busou renkin. i do watch them but only because i cant get hold of anything better right now. ghost in the shell is above all series (yes they made movies of it too). fullmetal wasnt too bad either. full lenght movies are the ones that define anime. any1 seen Spirited Away, Moving Castle or Princess Mononoke?
