Clown
I heard that after two years time not playing, your account is deleated, and that usename can be created again. Is this true? Even if it isn't, I was thinking about how this could work. If you don't log on just ONCE for TWO YEARS, then you are: a)No longer playing the game. b)In Jail. c)Homeless If you cared at all about your account, you should have no trouble logging on once in two years. My idea is that truly inactive accounts should be deleated, and the usename can be used again. Note that the account is not nessisarily gone, it is mearly called Account X (A number). The account can't be played again without chooseing a new username. After you have chosen a new name, you can play again. I think this makes sence, seeing as most good usernames are gone, and the people who took them might have quit or left home by now... From the looks of the posts, there are reports of accounts in RSC being deleated. If we can have some old schoolers confirm this, it would be great, thanks. ~Clown ~
Harrington
It may be true. I stopped playing for 18 months but my account was still there. So two years might be correct.
Clown
I'm just wondering if this was true, because I keep hearing about people with level 100 accounts who tryed to log on and got wierd messages, like: "Your account has been inactive for two years. As a result, this account has been deleated." ~
buzzsaw
Well i stopped playing in RSC for about 18 months - 2 years and nothing happened, but then again that was a long time ago. Plus i havent heard of this happening. Personally, i think that a account shouldnt be deleted. Maybe that person has a totally reasonable excuse to why he/she has not been able to log on in 2 years. Also i dont like the idea of your account being deleted and then your username is back up for grabs. I like my account username becuase its not like many other account names you see today like "John05547841", which is far from original. I find also that numberless names are far rarer, so having this type of name not only looks good, but, in a way, shows how long you've been playing. Also alot of people are remembered as "legends" in RuneScape for doing something special, and to see a name that was once a legend, being used by some noob just doesnt seem right to me. Clown
You have a good point. But a few weeks ago I made an account called Soul Sultan. It's a good name, and the important thing is, its actually in use. Most games have a 30 day inactivity policy before your account is deleated. I think that two years is more then fair. I mean, The Old Nite is an account that jagex night want to "lock" as the man behind it no longer plays. ~
Harrington
I think that if you're total skills are less than 800 and you haven't played in 2 years, then your account should be deleted. I think Jagex should work off a scale whereby, the higher the total level, the longer an inactive period is permitted before deletion. I think that would be fair and allow Jagex some control over the size of their player database.
Clown
Good idea harrison. A level 3 = 6 months, then its name is up for grabs. Cursed You, The Old Nite = 10 years. I could see this system working. ~

And more importantly, The Old Nite is DEAD, and I hardly believe you didn't know. It is a very harsh example and the way you write about it sounds offensive to me and other players, I'm talking about those who are more related to him. frogmite
No thats not true, they deleted RSC accounts if they weren't logged into within 6 months previously a couple of years back, thats the only time they've ever deleted accounts and the only time they ever said that they would delete accounts. Poopingman
RS was really bad about deleting inactive accounts. One of my friends stopped playing in like '02. His account was still here during Summer '05. Kind of startled both of us. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....
Guest Cosinus
Like 1 account would take up alot of space on the servers.. :-s I strongly doubt that Jagex delete inactive accounts after a certain time period has expired, would be incredibly stupid and useless in my honest oppinion. If they do then I think they should stop with it immediaetly, nuff' said.
Clown
Wow, came back from school and people had gotten the wrong idea entierly.. First off, I DO know the old nite. He was a great runescape player, both in Classic and in RC2. I know he died from cancer, and he had a son. I respect The Old Nite, and his memory, so don't tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about just because the subject may be sensitive for you. ~
