Many moons ago, I searched the Tip.it Clan Recruitment forums looking for skilling clans. I'd heard about them, and thought I might like to join.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

However, I really couldn't find any. Finally, in early August or so, the folks at GUILDS posted something, and I and a good 2-3 dozen other people saw their posting and joined.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now there may have been other Runescape skilling clans out there, but they weren't posting on tip.it (at least that I could find).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fast forward to today, and with the new "Skilling Clan Recruitment Centre", the number of skilling clans is now in the dozens.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'd have to think that the creation of the Tip.it section was what has spurred this growth. I think the demand for skilling clans has always been there, but this relatively new section has made it that much easier to find them.

Although as I understand it... GUILDS is not a clan, but more of a community. Atleast loose enough to have people form other clans just participate int heir stuff...

Yes, membership of another clan is completely exceptable. But that was back in the days when clan=pking, which we do, but not on a massive scale. We also don't force you to come to events, however of course if you don't post on the forums and never turn up to events, you get deleted. The law of joining another clan still remains however.

Be it "clan" or "community", the choices pre-Tip.it-specific recruiting section were quite limited.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The section, I believe, will end up enriching the Runescape experience for many.

Hardly. Skilling Clans rarely post their events and have very little to say generally. The new forum has done little to reverse the decline of Tip.It - which looked promising for a time but then fell again a few weeks ago.

No, what he means is that the Skilling Clans don't post their own events on the forums. We rarely get to see pictures or videos of any of their clan events.

Well, compared to wars/pk events; skilling event videos aren't as entertaining to watch per se.

In all honesty. That's what made the board interesting to read. What could possibly be discussed about a skill clan that isn't available to discuss in other sections on tip.it's forums.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rivalries between clans and the flamers is what kept the board active in my opinion.

True, but I bet with some good editing a boring skilling event can be turned into something that looked like fun.

I think the reason for this is most skilling clans have there own forums now at least the one I belong to does.

 

 

 

They post most if not all there pictures/videos on there own forums now - a - days. So that is the reason why you

 

 

 

never see them here on Tip -It. :)

well the skilling clan im in has been around since 2005 we did post a thread here around setember i beleive but it died lol i made another one yesterday but ya got to give some props to tip it they have helped some what make skilling clans blossom and i thank u guys for that

Yeah. Tip.it did alot to raise the awareness of skilling clans. They also helped recruit alot of them.

Well I think the skilling clans have always been heer its just awareness of them has risen.
