February 19, 200719 yr Well, the Government is all about governing for it's people. With America's situation in Iraq i doubt they could venture into any campaigns like this any time soon. The president is probably already spread thin with his current war. Also add into the barbaric soliders in Sudan that they would be fighting against and I couldn't see the people of America going for this anytime soon. However, the UN should really intervene in situations like this. Their problem is calling up armys to help, thats the only option i see here to resolve the situation. If i where you I wouldn't be campaigning this too America but to the UN who can do something to help, and have an obligaion to do so. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.
February 19, 200719 yr I think they need to take care of their own problem. If they are being slaughtered then they have nothing to lose by stepping up to the plate. We don't need to go in there and lose our own men and women. I'm not going to say anything else since I'm not a nice person. Rose Are you being serious? I think it's kinda hard to step up to the plate if you get killed, I really don't think I would. So what your saying is if your people, your friends, family, were being slaughtered around you, and you knew eventually your time would come, you wouldn't take a stand? Kind of hard to step up to the plate if you get killed? Well first of all, if your talking about what I said, then that means they already stepped up. Second of all if you aren't, then are you not going to die eventually to the same thing? I would NOT for a SECOND think about fighting, they are too powerfull. It would turn into another rebal movement if they started to get more people to join the "good" force. So why not get togethor a force? If I lived there and I thought we needed to take a stand then that pretty much guarantee someone else does too. I bet thousands of people think they need to take a stand, they just don't communicate. You are a MORON becuase YOU would be CONDEMNING yourself to DEATH by NOT stepping up. Sure you could die by stepping up. Hell, you probably would die. But they DO stand a chance. And if some people fight back, others will too. And eventually the citizens, the ones who were being killed daily, will defeat the rebels. in the end, you would most likely die. :? My point exactly. So why not try? Keep_It_Real. Stop bumping your topic if someone wants to say something they will post you don't need to have it at the top of the page all the time.

February 24, 200719 yr we dont need and cant handle another ground war, what we could do however is bomb the repressive goverment back to the stone age. I cant imagine that sudan has a terribly good air defence system, and itsw just live fire practice for a good cause. if we cut off the head of their goverment, the soldiers doing all of this will be disorganised and easier to handle, either by us or by the sudaneese themselves. the other possibilities is to send aid packages of ramen noodles and m-16's. that will also solve the problem

You should've saw Sierra Leone, it's ten times worse. sierra leone is getting better, while sudan is getting worse It is now, but back in the early 90's it was worse than Uganda and Sudan are today, and maybe even worse than Rwanda? I'd still like to know why the Rebels kill their own people, I never quite understood this. I know they want children and supples from villages, but it still seems like too much. Me doing staff.

March 2, 200719 yr Im not sure exactly, but it would cost around $14b to feed EVERY single starving human being in the world for one-year. Some people might think that's a lot, but really, it's not. Qatar, a tiny country made $64b dollars in 2006. That's just one country, one year.
March 2, 200719 yr Talk about depressing movie. I actually nearly cried in that movies, all those children in the movie are my age, and they keep getting abducted. Horrible.

March 3, 200719 yr PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASEEEEE Post if you watch the video, let others know how powerfull it is. ALSO, TELL FRIENDS!!I AM TRYING TO GET ON HOT TOPIC!!! Currently:ONLINE =) YA! Message me with any questions, I can probley answer them. PLEASE...TAKE A BREAK FROM EVERYTHING, AND WATCH THE VIDEO! The first part is a LITTLE bit boring, but keep watching, it is most diffently NOT boring..This video has 5/5 stars, and has been viewed OVER 156,000 TIMES!!If you are really impatience, fast forward to 12minutes, thats were it REALLY gets started.. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3166797753930210643&q=invisible+children WHAT IS IT ABOUT In the spring of 2003, three young Americans traveled to Africa in search of such as story. What they found was a tragedy that disgusted ... and inspired them to share their story. A story where children are weapons and children are the victims. The "Invisible Children: rough cut" film exposes the effects of a 20 year-long war on the children of Northern Uganda. These children live in fear of abduction by rebel soldiers, and are being forced to fight as a part of violent army. This wonderfully reckless documentary is fast paced, with an MTV beat, and is something truly unique. To see Africa through young eyes is humorous and heart breaking, quick and informative - all in the very same breath. See this film, you will be forever changed. http://www.savedarfur.org/content The link about is a link to a site were you can sign a petition, to get to the world leaders thinking about this, you can also buy some pretty cool shirts, I have one, and it really gets people thinking about it Please tell me if you see something wrong, or you want something done, I would also like to hear your ideas. Also, re-read what you just said: one 15 second delay (which is an exaggeration to begin with) ruins floor times? You are beyond ridiculous.
March 3, 200719 yr Look at what I found in the VIM text editor. Kibaale Children's Centre *kcc* Kibaale Children's Centre (KCC) is located in Kibaale, a small town in the south of Uganda, near Tanzania, in East Africa. The area is known as Rakai District. The population is mostly farmers. Although people are poor, there is enough food. But this district is suffering from AIDS more than any other part of the world. Some say that it started there. Estimations are that 10 to 30% of the Ugandans are infected with HIV. Because parents die, there are many orphans. In this district about 60,000 children have lost one or both parents, out of a population of 350,000. And this is still continuing. The children need a lot of help. The KCC is working hard to provide the needy with food, medical care and education. Food and medical care to keep them healthy now, and education so that they can take care of themselves in the future. KCC works on a Christian base, but help is given to children of any religion. The key to solving the problems in this area is education. This has been neglected in the past years with president Idi Amin and the following civil wars. Now that the government is stable again, the children and parents have to learn how to take care of themselves and how to avoid infections. There is also help for people who are ill and hungry, but the primary goal is to prevent people from getting ill and to teach them how to grow healthy food. Most of the orphans are living in an extended family. An uncle or older sister is taking care of them. Because these families are big and the income (if any) is low, a child is lucky if it gets healthy food. Clothes, medical care and schooling is beyond its reach. To help these needy children, a sponsorship program was put into place. A child can be financially adopted. For a few dollars a month KCC sees to it that the child gets indispensable items, is healthy, goes to school and KCC takes care of anything else that needs to be done for the child and the family that supports it. Besides helping the child directly, the environment where the child grows up needs to be improved. KCC helps schools to improve their teaching methods. There is a demonstration school at the centre and teacher trainings are given. Health workers are being trained, hygiene education is carried out and households are stimulated to build a proper latrine. I helped setting up a production site for cement slabs. These are used to build a good latrine. They are sold below cost price. There is a small clinic at the project, which provides children and their family with medical help. When needed, transport to a hospital is offered. Immunization programs are carried out and help is provided when an epidemic is breaking out (measles and cholera have been a problem). *donate* Summer 1994 to summer 1995 I spent a whole year at the centre, working as a volunteer. I have helped to expand the centre and worked in the area of water and sanitation. I learned that the help that the KCC provides really helps. Now that I'm back in Holland, I would like to continue supporting KCC. To do this I'm raising funds and organizing the sponsorship program. Please consider one of these possibilities: 1. Sponsor a child in primary school: 17 euro a month (or more). 2. Sponsor a child in secondary school: 25 euro a month (or more). 3. Sponsor the clinic: Any amount a month or quarter 4. A one-time donation Compared with other organizations that do child sponsorship the amounts are very low. This is because the money goes directly to the centre. Less than 5% is used for administration. This is possible because this is a small organization that works with volunteers. If you would like to sponsor a child, you should have the intention to do this for at least one year. How do you know that the money will be spent right? First of all you have my personal guarantee as the author of Vim. I trust the people that are working at the centre, I know them personally. Further more, the centre is co-sponsored and inspected by World Vision, Save the Children Fund and International Child Care Fund. The centre is visited about once a year to check the progress (at our own cost). I have visited the centre myself in 1996, 1998, 2000, 2001 and 2003. The visit reports are on the ICCF web site. If you have any further questions, send me e-mail: *taken away.
