March 8, 200719 yr Here are a few fun facts about Sudan. It has natural resources. Pretty big deposits of oil and natural gas as well as some other stuff. A big reason no country wants to go in there with troops is the Sudan is about the size of western Europe. It is a huge country. To pacify a country that large would take tons and tons of troops. The roads are very poor so supporting those troops would be a huge difficulty as well. Anyone up for a draft? Those troops would have to come from somewhere... If we went in with a smaller concentration of troops it would look all nice for the newspapers but nothing would get accomplished because there is no way a few troops could control that country the way it would need to be controlled to stop this crazyness. Read up on the background of the Sudan on the CIA website if you want some interesting info. https://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/print/su.html

March 24, 200719 yr My whole school is involved in Schools for Schools, where your school helps raises money for another school in that area. Currently we're at $20,000 and attempting to hit around 40-50.
March 24, 200719 yr our school is one of the schools that supports this! Ive donated over $200 myself I think it is an awesome cause! 98% Of teenagers surround their minds with rap music, if you're part of the 2% that stayed with rock, put this in your signature, ROCK IS BETTER!

March 24, 200719 yr I highly doubt it's only $14 billion per year to feed every starving person on Earth, but yea...Even if you could get that money, I read that most of it is stolen by warlords and what not. But if it were $14 billion, I'm sure the USA would be footing the bill yearly if it were that easy. It really isn't that much money, considering we just spent...I forget, is it up to 200 billion yet on the war? Edit: Also thought it was worth noting that I'm not surprised the photographer of that last picture killed himself due to depression. I'd be rather guiltful too if I snapped a picture of a dying child and then just left. I dunno' about you, but I would have picked him up and taken him to somewhere, anywhere, that food was present. If I were to go to African, I most certainly would bring bags upon bags of food I could give out to people like that. Surely I may be mobbed, but whatever...I'm tired of seeing smiling faces of people like those Christian groups on TV who smile and ask for money and point out a starving kid and never show that kid being given food or anything from the people. Is there a "Don't feed the starving kid behind you!" rule there, or what? The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me!
March 24, 200719 yr yeh 14billion would be pretty easy im sure way more than 14bn is given in aid every year for the US alone not to mantion the UK and the rest

How could you not pick that out? :?
April 3, 200719 yr I found this interesting. Apparently there is a 7,000 man strong peacekeeping force in the Sudan right now from the African Union. The UN wanted to put troops there to help but the Sudan wouldn't allow it. The AU operates an overstretched 7,000-strong force in Darfur. Sudan has rejected the deployment of a larger U.N. force in the region, where violence has persisted despite a 2006 peace agreement between the government and one rebel faction. The killings bring to 15 the number of AU personnel killed in Darfur since troops were deployed in late 2004. A senior Nigerian officer working with the mission has been missing since he was kidnapped in December. http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/africa/04 ... index.html
April 3, 200719 yr If only I was a billionare.. I would get tons of food aid, set up a Defense Line of Personal Hired Miltary troops where kids can freely be safe under the protection of USA soldiers. Then, the richer I get, the further we will expand the borders of the safe zone, invite more children, save who we can.. Its sad... all us poor/mid folk want to help, and yet.. alot of rich people who doesn't even need it spend it on mansions and boats.. All I need is food, water, air, a decent shelter with a internet connection and i'll be "contempt", the rest needs to be given away! ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me

April 9, 200719 yr thats a nice thing that you wrote defender but its easir to say when you haven't got all that money and when people have money it's hard to give away. Although i still think how can these uber rich people live with themselves while people are atarving to death on the other side of the world. Also i say that but personally i dont do a right lot for charity but i hope i will change that once ive finished education and start in full time work.
April 9, 200719 yr I doubt the Sudan is going to let some rich billionaire and an army of mercenaries come into their country to quell the violence if they won't even let the UN come to their aide.
April 9, 200719 yr that was one of the most depressing things ive seen in a loong long time. the poor guy at the end who lost his brother really got me going :( something needs to be done about this it trully is disgusting. its great to see what those 3 men have done just from being inspired to make a change, lets just hope many others find inspiration from within them and join together to make change. :( turbo. Back playing Rs with some vigour for once, Visit my blog and check out what im up too.. http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=690785
April 9, 200719 yr :uhh:  taking 1 look at these video will not only make u feel sympathetic and angry for the circumstances they suffer but also ashamed for living in a country where the people feel hard done by if they do not receive their ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã100,000 car on the day it was supposed to arrive never mind appreciating the fact that 3 meals a day isn't enough for us, no we must have more and more and as soon as a charity advert on the TV appears we flick it over so as not to "feel bad". dunno what to say really... not much that needs saying if u watch the vids
April 10, 200719 yr meby add that it is the dafur reigon of africa.(not sure i spelled it right) Americans love to fight. All real Americans love the sting of battle. George S. Patton

Why should people feel ashamed from being from a prosperous country? They can't help where they are from. They also can't help the fact that their ancestors fought for freedoms and worked their rears off to become prosperous. People should be proud of where they are from and proud that their parents grandparents and fellow citizens have done so much to make their country prosperous. I would love to see the people of the Sudan live in peace with each other and build their nation into a prosperous nation but I'm not going to go around disliking myself because they haven't done so yet.
April 11, 200719 yr The problem with America is our perspective of life. We take things for granted. Shove 1 of us in Sudan and our replacement be a kid from Sudan. You know, I use to work for a company called Hilton Honors. The people I talked to were so selfish, yet they was staying in great beautiful hotels, but complained over very stupid things! One person complained because Bush's Picture was in the hotel.. another complained because of a mirror.. and the light was blinding him somehow.. from the bathroom.. yet he could have simpley shut the door.. inless he's afraid the boogy man might get him in hotels. I am proud of America for its freedom, but I am not proud of its people. Everyone here takes things highly offensive. Yet were suppose to be a country thats "United" and only Love Unites! When hate spreads, division occurs.. and there appears to be a lot of division. I just wish everyone would forget what wrongs other people have done, and say " I forgive them, so I may spread love today". If there was 1 thing I could wish for America, its that they wake up on how blessed they are. We are far to arrogant.. rich and arrogant.. ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me
