wakka102
the skill was meant to be a money drain/fun/give something for people to use high amounts of money on instead of rares. 54m isn't too bad compared to other skills.
cardovilian
I got to 62 cons this way (high enough to make home teletabs [my ultimate aim] with crystal saw - another quest - and tea from porcelain cups) and it hasn't cost me a penny. It has cost you a penny, just out of kingdom profits. That's cooking the books to make it look better. :) Ah, you got me....its a tax dodge! Why is 'common sense' so named, when there is so little of it about?Welcome to puberty, we've been expecting you.

gonzlar
Why bother making planks when you could rc to cover the costs AND gain xp while you do so. The self-proclaimed king of bronze.
Dalcyte
I find Con as a luxury skill, not as one i'm obligated to raise. I got mine to 48 for a portal room for barrows, thats all i'm really interested in atm. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it

Sy_Accursed
I read this, and thought "Why does everyone think you HAVE to use wood to raise levels?" Then I saw the replies, and realized how smart tipiters are. Hehe. As mentioned on the replies, this cost is how much it would cost if you BUY the skill. Getting Con levels with wood is extremely fast exp. Getting the con levels the hard, free way, with limestone and clay, would be hard levels, but you don't HAVE to buy the exp. You don't have to buy Dragon bones to raise to 99 prayer. You can get them yourself for free. (And I'll come to your 99 party in 2010. Hehe) I was actually hoping this post would be adding up how much it would cost to FURNISH your house with all the best stuff.... but alas....Someone shoudl add up all the best furniture... eh? Every room except a rocking chair room. Give me a price for a 20 room house! 2 bedrooms, study, 1 teleport room, dungeon, throne room, etc... How much is it to deck out a full house at 99 con? Well I went to fredmcgarry's 99 con party and he said that he had spent over 300M on his house which had the best of everything, and this was along with training con to 99 in an extremely fast manner. Furnishing is expensive I have near enough completed my workshop and have 2 of the best beds in. However I ran through totaling up all other materials I need to build my house (after 99 con) and I need 30 magic stones - whihc alone are in the region of 30mil Its gonna cost me about 60mil to train it up, then I figured its atleast another 60mil to furnish it Operation Gold Sparkles :: Chompy Kills :: Full Profound :: Champions :: Barbarian Notes :: Champions Tackle Box :: MA RewardsDragonkin Journals :: Ports Stories :: Elder Chronicles :: Boss Slayer :: Penance King :: Kal'gerion Titles :: Gold Statue

tripsis
I hate how most people just take one look at the cost for 99 construction and shy away. As if they expect everything in Runescape to be easy, cheap, and almost handed to them. I have 99 construction myself and spent about 120m gp on it. At first glance, I never so much as imagined that I'd ever have level 99, because it costed "so much" to get to level 99. But I got there with ease in about 2 short months of off and on leveling, and got 90 runecrafting with it. Sure, it does take a little more extra work, but that doesn't mean it should be tossed to the side or viewed as "too hard." Don't just give up because it's one of the (or the only) only skills that cost gp to raise it, no matter how you do it. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
