We were discussing these questions in one of my classes, and I thought it would be interesting if the Tip.it community would give their opinions.

Nothing. If I knew my 'purpose', that'd mean my life is predestined, which I don't really have 'faith' in. You can make decisions in life and take them as your 'purpose', such as raising your children. That's a self caused purpose billions of people share for example.

Nothing can predict what you're "meant" to do, but you have faith in it so I can't argue with that. I'm fairly sure most people do choose their lives and paths instead of having some God pre-destine them.

I am not an athiest, though, I might have turned out as one, but, I have experinced so much suffering and death in my life, I felt the need to believe in something. I feel a lot better thinking tha one day, we cold all be enjoying ourselves witout the suffering or the death. It gives me a sense of well being and security to believe it religion.

As for the last two, I'm here just to enjoy my life. Kids in Africa die every day. What's thier purpose? And don't say to teach us how great our lives are, what's thier purpose? Hmm :-k They just live, suffer and die. Is that purposeful? I could say my purpose is to help these kids out and give thier lives meaning, but what would that mean for me? Iv'e spent my whole life on other people? Is that purposeful for my life or finding out who I am?
