February 8, 200719 yr The Political Compass is a map that tells you where you stand in the political spectrum. It is 2-dimensional, and is much more effective than the traditional one-dimensional political spectrum that ranges from far left (most liberal) to far right (most conservative). An example of the flaw of the 1D spectrum is, where did Joseph Stalin stand in it? He was a hardcore authoritarian as in far-right ideoligies, and yet was a fan of far-left ideoligies like collectivism. Should we consider him Left or Right? The solution is adding another dimension, one that extends from far top/north (most authoritarian, or fascism/totalitarianism) to the far bottom/south (most libertarian, or anarchism). Want to know where you stand in this 2-dimensional spectrum? Take the test! http://www.politicalcompass.org/index This is a screenshot of where I stand: Economic Left/Right: 6.00 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 4.15 You can post the link to the printable page of your result (link to it should be near the image of where you stand in the Compass) or a screenshot of the result if you want. For reference, here is a chart of where some famous people stand in the Compass, from the website. http://www.politicalcompass.org/images/internationalchart.gif
February 8, 200719 yr Didn't know how to get it into an image. Heh How I did well today at 11:30 am 14 years ago i was born.. wo0t!!!At 11:30 you should start holding your head underwater wo0t!!!Stop acting such a moron.
February 8, 200719 yr Author Nice, you stand almost opposite from me.. :) To post a screenshot, press the Print Scrn/SysRq Key which is to the right of F12, then go into Paint and click edit (at the top of the window) and click paste. Crop out all the unneeded stuff and save it as whatever you want except a .bmp or .tif, those are way too large for the forums since .tif is very complex and .bmp is incredibally uncompressed. Those formats may take up a few megabytes instead of a few kilobytes, to put it short. Then go to http://www.photobucket.com, register if needed then upload your image. Copy the URL of the newly uploaded image into your post. That's unneeded though since that link works perfectly. :)
February 8, 200719 yr many of the questions were poorly worded, but overall, gives a decent idea of where you stand politically. i scored pretty much where celt did, which is a little bit less conservative than i expected.
February 8, 200719 yr Lol I'm right up with Gandhi. Some of the questions were hard for me because I have very extreme views and didn't know how to answer some with a simple yes or no.. But I tried  - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
February 8, 200719 yr Author Nice ktmcf121! @ tripsis: They're easier than other ones since the options are strongly agree, agree, disagree and strongly disagree. You can choose how you feel and not yes or no. :) And that's interesting since when I took the test a few months ago I had a similar standing. I wonder why I'm so right-winged now.
February 8, 200719 yr i kinda agree with tripsis, some of the questions were very hard for me to answer, because either werent specific enough, or i had mixed feelings on the subject. some of the questions were rather "in the gray area" if you know what i mean.

Exactly. I guess what I wanted was another option that was in between agree and disagree :P Like a "no opinion" option. But maybe it's just because I despise politics :XD: - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

February 8, 200719 yr I can't be arsed taking it wice in two months... so these are the results from the last time.. Your political compass Economic Left/Right: -5.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.51
February 8, 200719 yr Author @ dark: Nice, that's interesting, -3 social libertarian. :) @hiimben: You are on the horizontal line? That means you are centrist when it comes to authoritarianism/libertarianism. Nice balance. :)

February 8, 200719 yr Author It means you are not too authoritarian (favoring a strong government) but not too libertarian (favoring a less powerful government). Of course, I can only guess. :)
February 8, 200719 yr Whee.. Ghandi-ish, but not extreme enough. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
February 8, 200719 yr Felt a bit hindered by the limited answers, but here goes anyway: *Messed up image - Can't be bothered to retake I was near Nelson Mandela and the Dalai Llama. I'd say that's about right! This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
February 8, 200719 yr Darn, can't get the image to work... I was roughly about 3 squares to the right of the guy furthest on the left, I can't remember his name... was it Ghandi...?

February 8, 200719 yr After taking the test, it seems that I'm quite the little communist lol. My views are apparently quite extreme to the left (I assume this is because I believe in capital punishment and that crimes are not punished adequately, also that I favour more State control, particularily of businesses). I also seem to lean quite a bit towards Authoritalism. This puts me almost exactly on the same position as Stalin lol! Erm... maybe I shouldn't be laughing ;)
