Hiyaaa there stranger

I saw the 'most awesome ending' topic and for some crazy reason I thought it said 'building' and I was like oooh yay this could be interesting...

But, yeah.

So what do you think are the most 'awesome' buildings in the world? In terms of beauty, material, height, size, weight, looks, practicality, history, or whatever you choose.

And please post pics ::'

Hehe I might just be stating the obvious...

but no flaming here please :shame: If you haven't got anything nice to say then keep your mouth shut, and if no-one else has said anything nasty then you won't have to, will you? Not, you know, that I'm forbidding discussion or debate but we can manage that without swearing at each other.

This time... (lol) it's not about being sexist. It's about being compared to a six-inch-high fabric model of a toy stuffed with cotton wool with no character, family, freewill or moral code! :P

I would have to say the Collosus of Rhodes. Though it no longer exists today, and is depicted to be even cooler than it actually was, it's still very cool.

The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past.

Yeah, I remember seeing a documentary almost entirely based on that statue. It was said even the biggest man couldn't wrap his arms around the thumb of the statue, and that thing actually did exist but was looted after it crumbled down.

P.S: Issy is a doll with no family or moral code.

Well, the ones I'm thinking of aren't really buildings, more of a structure. That is dams. Just amazes me that man has engineered something like them that can hold back millions of litres of water. Seeing one up close is spectacular.

Space Needle in Seattle. I've been on the observation deck a few times. (it's just above the yellow band). You can see all of Seattle.

The view from the observation deck (looking south):

Atomium - Brussels, Belgium:

You beat me to it, I really like the Atomium myself (and not just because I'm a Belgian).

Another mind-boggling project: Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
