And degree's mean nothing. ~Defender~ With how stupid you are, or seemingly are reguarding your posts, I can not believe you have an income tax. I'd hardly believe it if your out of Huggies yet. My Farewell thread. Please post nicely, or die. :^_^:Yea, I'd vote for him too. But I don't think they let Iraqis vote :P

February 20, 200719 yr Author No wonder you people are poor. And knives.. I DON'T want a degree.. my sister got a degree and she works where i work making the same pay. There is people with college degrees and still end up at lower paying jobs. Degree's are worthless because almost every kid has one. Companies are looking for something more than just a degree now. ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me

And degree's mean nothing. ~Defender~ Degrees can get you all sorts of privileges once in a job, they are just kept undercover. My friend has worked in employment for over 40 years and trust me a degree benefits you in so many ways. But hey believe what you want, just don't try and claim hear-say as facts, without evidence. In manual work, which is what I presume you are doing from a previous statement of yours, no, a degree bares no importance. But like I said, believe what you want, your choices in life have no impact on me. And in response to the question? $1000 is about ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã500 these days. Can't get me too much, just 2 months rent, and I'd still need a bit more. Or I'd invest it into a business me and my friends have set up. Either way nothing too exciting would happen with it. February 20, 200719 yr ... What? You fail at argument. You do realise, of course, that a higher paying job means you can actually leave the workforce at an earlier date? February 20, 200719 yr It's hard not to judge when it's so blindingly obvious that you don't actually have an argument against using that money to further your education. Varrock Library: Shattered Sky | Silent Thunder | The Emperor's FinestAstri @ MythWeavers
February 20, 200719 yr Author It's hard not to judge when it's so blindingly obvious that you don't actually have an argument against using that money to further your education. Ohhhhh! You can buy your own priveleges!!! ~Defender~ Ok then, do you mind me asking what you work as? Enjoying life without money these days is a difficult thing to do. I want a house, be able to afford to buy or pay a mortgage on that house, feed myself, bring up a family, clothe them, take them to places they will enjoy, I want to not worry about paying bills, not worry about turning on the heating (due to gas bill), run a car etc etc. I'm sorry but unless you live in a third world country, you are naive to think that you will get by easily with no job and no cash. How will you feel fulfillment in your life? A sense of accomplishment that everything you have you worked for and earnt it honestly? A million dollars will only last you a short time, it can only build a foundation. After taxes as well, you aren't looking at very much, especially as I know here in England a six figure sum pays income tax of around 40%. Zonorhc also has a very valid point. My friend was stock broker. Retired at 32. Now is enjoying life without work, and WITH money to do with whatever he wishes. He can go wherever he wants and do whatever he pleases. Tell me how you can truly enjoy the rest of your life with no job and no cash? I am interested to know. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
February 20, 200719 yr Of course I don't get what you're saying. It doesn't make sense. You want to earn lots of money so that you don't have to work for as long. A higher paying job would allow you to earn that money and leave the workforce faster. You don't want to further your education to improve your chances of getting a higher paying job. Do you see where this is going? Varrock Library: Shattered Sky | Silent Thunder | The Emperor's FinestAstri @ MythWeavers
February 20, 200719 yr ...you're dumb.. end of story If someone just handed me 1000 i'd stick it in a savings bond with good interest I was reffering to his "I'm never going to work.. ever" attitude because that's only going to get him a nice carboard box and a trashcan to warm himself with

Or.. invest 1k into college and get... a degree... that I will eventually have to pay later (putting me in debt), but have a bit nicer paying job than before.. No, I don't get what your saying. and ctp, I work right now. I'm trying to get cash so I can stop working in the work force. I know you can't get anywhere WITHOUT a job, i'm using the money I make now to invest in businesses. I'm basically trying to do what your friend is doing, retiring, then use all the money I earned for education as a hobby. Why? Are you trying to say that you should further your education after becoming a millionaire, which you haven't specified how you would do this? Or are you saying you shouldn't bother getting a degree because when you are a millionaire it doesn't matter, because you are rich and don't need a job? Your messages are confusing. SHH HUT YUH MUH. February 20, 200719 yr Okay, I think you're stuck in one of those common misconceptions about investments... Here's the deal: An investment does not always guarantee a return. February 20, 200719 yr [ Or, invest the 1,000 into gold stocks, make 3k... Or.. invest 1k into college and get... a degree... that I will eventually have to pay later (putting me in debt), but have a bit nicer paying job than before.. No, I don't get what your saying. That I don't think you understand, the stock market isn't a guaranteed win every time. You need such a good understanding of the ways it works, it is not a surefire fix. Then once you make that 3k, you are hardly going to just let it sit there, you have bills to pay and still need to make more money. So then you invest that money back into a business which could possibly fail and leaving you with not much of a lump sum that will tide you through your life. Another thing with the stock market is, people become too greedy. One of my dad's friends is a big player in the stock market, he's been at it for God knows how many years, but he can't stop. One million isn't enough when he knows he could invest it and possibly win more back. Human nature is to be dissatisfied with what you have and to want more, and it is an easy thing to try and get more when it comes to the stock market. A degree is a sure fire way to earn money on a regular basis, your salary will always pay you every year, there is less risk involved and you can get a high paying job that will definately bring in the money every year. Its a sit down job.. no physical labor at all.. but to me, a job is a waste of time. There is so much more you can do to enjoy your life without a job and cash and thats my goal, to get out of the rat race. Also I'm very confused as you seem to contradict yourself, saying that you don't need money and a job, yet you want cash and to play the stock market. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
February 20, 200719 yr Spend the money in a class to learn how to spend money wisely. On a more serious note, personally I'd put in the bank/invest it, and then forget about it for awhile, the interest you gain can make it quite worthwhile. That, or go buy one of the more recent consoles out there!

So lets try to clear it up. It's alright. He also said that you can get a free college degree on the Internet, then turned around and said that it wasn't free. I said the KNOWLEDGE on the internet is free, not the degree, so why would I want to go buy a degree for what I can get online? And correct me if I'm wrong, but this whole thread, he's been saying that he doesn't want to spend it on college (or go to college for that matter). Then he just said in the above post that he said he could spend it on a college degree. I want to go to college, but AFTER I get the money first, and it be a hobby. Not my journey into a better career of higher paid slavery. I asked what you worked as. And I go to college/university and work at the same time, it's not a waste of time.
