I'm not hating on you and your degree, but those who are getting degree's are setting themselfs up into high paid slavery. Your bondage to your own money.

Why do people get up and go to work everyday.. even though they don't want to! Because they are bonded in chains by money for Fear of losing their house or bills.

Lets go through all the things that are wrong here.

1) Assuming you can get all of your money from the stock market without spending years learning the trade, i.e. achieving something akin to a degree, is naieve at best.

2) Work is not slavery. Rediculous comparison, really.

3) Your assuming everyone dislikes thier job. Wrong. Some people love what they do and getting up every day to go to work. 4) People don't have jobs out of fear. Getting a degree and having a job means contributing to society.

I'm starting a degree at university this year. If you think degrees are such a waste of time, never go to the doctor, dentist, an accountant for financial help etc, etc.

1. You can actually learn it in less than 2 weeks. You don't know anything about the stock market, so you believe it is this over complex proccessing system. Wrong.

2. You keep telling yourself that when you hit the snooze on your alarm clock.

3. Yes, some people love their job. I am happy for them, but they are still in slavery.

4. Yes, Yes, thats excatly what the Government wants to! Work little minions, work! err.. I mean.. "contributing to society members". yes.. thats what we wanted to say.

And no, I don't go to any of those. Why the hell would I go to a finicial advisor? THEY AIN'T RICH!

Bah, I still think you are being awfully degrading to those who do not follow your life plan, just because it is different to yours. I and most do not see working as slavery. How can you say that a doctor is not contributing to society, after he has got his degree and is working every day? Your arguement against getting a degree and a formal job is very flawed and you are proving to be very ignorant by dismissing everyone else's decisions because they do not coincide with your own. Just because you see a job as slavery does not mean it is.

Your views are not the be all and end all of how we should all live our lives.

Of course, the government is always out to get you and it's all just a huge slavery conspiracy. Seriously, get over yourself. If people didn't have jobs you, my friend, would have to hunt and kill your food yourself. Even with all the money in the world you couldn't buy your way out of that scenario. I'll just let you live in your own little world because in reality society needs people with degrees and jobs or 'slaves' as you call them.

I said in a previous post that you do not need money to help people. It is not ignorant for me to look out for number one at all, it is what we do to survive it is human nature. I want my own blood to survive before others, that is why the human race still exists. Because we take care of our own, we cannot depend on others to look after us. That is not ignorance.

Ignorance: the lack of knowledge or education.

For degrading everyones outlook on life, this is a lack of knowledge on your part, for not understanding there are other walks of life, and that yours is not the only correct one.

I am not ignorant, selfish, some may view it as that, but that is not ignorance. What I aim to do is what any average Joe is doing out there.

I can help others without the use of money, it doesn't take too much time is something I can achieve today and everyday. I volunteer at a youth centre during Summer, it costs me nothing and helps out my community.

The problem for me then comes to, if you have a lot of money, how do you distinguish those who need money more than others, and methods of giving it to them. It is all well and good with those intentions, but more difficult to separate the really needy from the not so needy. Hope you understand that

I am not talking about feeding people. You can help people in other ways, not just by donating money. How can you not see this it baffles me. You tell me I am not helping people? Therefore I am an evil person? The thing is, there is no selfless good deed. Helping others makes you feel good about yourself, so you can go all high and mighty on me saying that you are so much better because one you know exactly how to become a millionaire, and two you are going to feed poor people. A good deed will only make yourself feel good, so who are you doing it for really? To help them, or help yourself to feel good?

When I volunteer, I feel very good about myself, that is to go without saying. Anyone would. You cannot tell me that I cannot contribute to my community by not providing them with money. Again that is ignorance. You cannot do something for only other people without a sense of achievement in yourself, hence every act a human commences is selfish. Like it or not.

Defender, stop acting like you are better than everyone else because you want to get rich and give money to people. If you are so serious about being a philanthropist then start a charity, adopt a child, stand up for human rights in Africa. Don't just keep going down this self gratification path thinking you are Jesus Christ or something. Even if that's not your intention it's coming across that you think everyone is below you because you are going to be the saviour for hundreds of poor people and we aren't. Calling people selfish because they live thier own lives the way they want is incredibly shameful of you as well. Do you live in a house or have money or food? Then I could call you selfish for not giving all of those things away. Everyone is selfish to an extent.

What was that story about Jesus in the temple? (sorry, my memory is a little hazy here) He was happier and looked with favour towards the woman who gave 2 silver coins because she was poor but was indifferent to rich people who gave more because they could afford it. Something like that. :?

So seriously, stop being arrogant because I can see right through your disguise and know you are doing this for self gratification, even if that wasn't your intention.

I think you are misinformed about being a stock-broker. And you still have not acknowledged that you could spend money on poorer people to help them out, if you are that devout a christian that you say you are. Rather than spending it on stuff you don't need, or are you only a christian when it suits your pocket?

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Yea, I'm saving up for one. And I've got an offer to buy a mate's t.v. that he has had for two years. Pretty big screen with great image quality. Because he took the PS3 offer we got from sony; 40inch full HD t.v. + PS3, extra controller, 2 games, HDMI cable and a blue ray movie for a measly ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì2185,--. :o Wish I was older and had some more money. :P

STOP spending it on DVDs and save for a few months rofl!

Mine's only 32" but a 42" would just be too big for the room. Its a Sony Bravia so it really good quality tho especially when I play HD stuff on it via my Xbox 360 :D

Don't waste ure money on a TV unless its HD-ready tho Daan, future proof yourself. Otherwise it'll be obsolete in a few years.

Yea, but HD-ready doesn't mean that much either. Full HD is best. Hmm, I'll see. What I'll do. Most important thing is that I can watch the movies. That's why I keep buying DVD's. I lie down the other way around now, you know, with my head at the foot-end of my bed. So that my eyes are closer to the screen. :P

What do you mean? "HD Ready" is the government mark that can be put on TVs that are 780p or above. Most HD TVs are 1080i like mine. That currently IS full-HD.

The fact that a product bears the label "HD ready" does not necessarily mean that it can display the full picture resolution possible from a HD source. Most HD-ready sets do not have enough pixels to give true pixel-for-pixel representation without interpolation of the higher HD resolution (1920x1080) - or even the lower HD resolution (1280x720) horizontally (CRT based sets, or the plasma based sets with 1024x768 resolution).

And you're going for the future with buying an expensive t.v., but you're already behind. :P I'd say when you're spending that much money alreayd, you might as well go for the 'real' thing. :P I could be mistaken, as I'm not really the technical guy. And I thought full HD was 1080P

When the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!

I think you are a little confused Daan. The HD ready label was created by EICTA (European Information, Communications and Consumer Electronics Technology Industry Associations) as a mark of minimum specification for high definition devices so that consumers wern't mis-sold "hd" goods which would not show the best quality pictures of HD.

In the UK at least HD ready means 780p or more.

As for 1080p, there are hardly any TVs or HD decoders on the consumer market equipped to receive or decode a 1080p signal at any frequency. there is almost zero difference in quality between i and p at 1080 and i can be converted relatively easily.

edit: found a 1080p sony bravy for sale branded as "full hd" which is probably what causing confusion but its over 5 times the price of an equivalent 1080i TV. madness.

Believe me, you wont turn $1k, even $10k into anything you can live on if you do it on the stock market. You'll need more capital to invest if you really want to live without "being a slave". And to get more capital, you either need to be lucky or work.

I'm still waiting to see where I can get a college degree absolutely free from the Internet.

Its not free, but its online. And degree's mean nothing.

You can get tons of degrees online, but none of them are free. :P As you have said.

Apply for scholarships and government hand-outs. When I went to the local community college to do my college generals (it was cheaper than at Uni :P) they gave me so much money that I actually got $800 extra to spend on whatever I wanted. Was a pretty cool deal. I was 16 at the time, however, and you get more if you're under 18 I think.
